1. OSHA SVEP – Are Press Releases a Good Thing?

I read an article the other day that the number of facilities added to the severe violator
enforcement (OSHA SVEP)program has doubled in the last year. With many come the press
release as well that quickly gets syndicated in news outlets.
I agree with going after companies that are blatant…..but I can't help to wonder how many
comapnies get press releases that should not have. The problem I have is the proposed issues
are released but not any settlement information which we all know can be greatly different then
what was originally cited.
So…severe violators program I think is good….but press releases I am not sure about.

As I have said in the past my real question comes from press releases that don't account for
incorrect citations. It feels like guilty before being proven guilty to me…
