Transcript of "Oral - Family Guy"

  1. 1. Family Guy is an American animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane forthe Fox Broadcasting Company. The series centers on the Griffins, a dysfunctional family consisting of parents Peter and Lois; their children Meg, Chris, and Stewie; and their anthropomorphic pet dog Brian.
  2. 2. The series Family Guy is made in English and consists of ten series, among them one hundred eighty-eight episodes. Currently, the channel is "Fox", with each episode, about 20 to 23 minutes of viewing.
  3. 3. The first team of writers assembled for the show consisted of Chris Sheridan, Danny Smith, Gary Janetti, Ricky Blitt, Neil Goldman, Garrett Donovan, Matt Weitzman, and Mike Barker. The writing process of Family Guy generally starts with 14 writers that take turns writing the scripts; when a script is finished it is given to the rest of the writers to read.
  4. 4. Family Guy and its cast have been nominated for thirteen Emmy Awards, with four wins. In 2007 TV Guide ranked Family Guynumber 15 in their list of top cult showsever. Family Guy has garnered six GoldenReel Awards nominations, winning three times.
  5. 5. Peter Griffin is an"average" American father. Peter is irresponsible, obese, immature, loud-mouthed, dim-witted and a heavy drinker. He finds out he is mentally retarded in the episode "Petarded".
  6. 6. Lois Griffin is Peters wife. Sheis a stay-at-home mother whojuggles her pianolessons, kids, and her husband.
  7. 7. Chris Griffin is Peter and Loiss second child. He is a fat, dim-witted, emotionally effusive 15 year old boy. A recurring gag is that an evil monkey lives in his closet, which he finds out is not evil in the episode "Hannah Banana". He tries fitting in with his peers but fails due to his low intelligence and social awkwardness.
  8. 8. Meg Griffin is the Griffins eldest child and only daughter. She is a self- conscious, unattractive teenage girl. The other family members treat her with contempt, as an object of abuse, and an outcast. Meg often attempts to "fit in" with the popular kids but is rejected. Meg has had several love interests, including the Griffins dog Brian.
  9. 9. Stewie Griffin is the Griffins baby, but often behaves in adult ways such asspeaking in an upper- class English accent. He is a child genius who frequentlyaspires to murder hismother Lois and take over the world.
  10. 10. Brian Griffin is the familys anthropomorphic talking dog. Brian is portrayed as an intellectual who often points out how ridiculous Peters ideas are. He is an alcoholic, a smoker, an atheist, a liberal, and unsuccessfully aspires to be an author. Brian is in love with Lois.
