What are Our Objectives <ul><li>Hands on business experience by interning at an entrepreneurial company in Beijing. </li></ul><ul><li>Experience the topics discussed in the classes for the Minor in Entrepreneurship (ex- strategy, marketing, writing a business plan, finances...) in action during their internship. </li></ul><ul><li>Each student will have different personal objectives for their internship experience (ex- some are interested in finance, others are interested in social entrepreneurship...). </li></ul>
  5. 5. = <ul><li>Who is coming </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Approx 20 UNC Chapel Hill undergrads in the Entrepreneurship Minor.  </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Students will not have a background in Chinese language.  </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Age 18-24 </li></ul></ul>

When, where <ul><li>8 weeks in Beijing </li></ul><ul><li>June 6th – July 29th 2011 </li></ul><ul><li>Study </li></ul><ul><ul><li>First week will be all courses (intro to Chinese language and culture and their entrepreneurship course) and an orientation to Beijing.  </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Internships (subject to final confirmation) </li></ul><ul><ul><li>w/c June 6 th: Monday -Thursday </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>w/c June 13 th to w/c June 27 th Monday - Friday </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>w/c July 4th to w/c 25 th July: Monday - Wednesday </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Based at International Dorm of Capital Normal University </li></ul>
  7. 7. = <ul><li>What Do We Look for </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Students intern at a company that is entrepreneurial. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Company provides real work </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Selection criteria </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Company with minimum of 10 staff members </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Actively involved China business community </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Established in China for more than 2 years </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Fully funded </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Availability of founder to mentor intern </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Willingness to complete end of program evaluation </li></ul></ul></ul>
