The Frock Shop Chicago Set to Host Spring in the City Fashion Show
Chicago’s Premier Dress Rental Boutique Gives Back to the Migration Heritage Foundation
(Chicago) Illinois---The Frock Shop Chicago is set to host a Spring in the City Fashion Show to
showcase their latest spring looks for their dress rental boutique, and highlight designer Suzette
Opara. The Frock Shop Chicago carries designer dresses for evening wear, prom, dances, and
more! The prices are reasonable allowing customers to look glam and fashionable for an evening
out on the town. Owner, Jennifer Burrell brought the dress rental concept to the Pilsen area five
years ago. Her dreams of making designer dresses affordable truly came to life when she turned
her passion into her career. Over 200 dresses are hand selected by her and The Frock Shop’s
local buyers. The boutique has numerous designers including: BCBG Max Azria, Rachel Zoe,
Nicole Miller, Herve Leger, Tadashi Shoji, Alice + Olivia, Parker, Colver Canyon, Sue Wong,
Adrianna Papell, Calvin Klein Evening Wear, Jovani, Sherri Hill and Terani.
“I was cleaning out my closet one day and noticed my wedding dress, prom dress and pageant
dresses were still there. I had only worn the dresses for a few hours. So all of a sudden I thought
about dress rental. I never thought about owning a business before, but since I could not find the
corporate jobs that I wanted, I decided to create an opportunity for myself,” said owner Burrell.
The Spring in the City fashion show will allow customers and media to get a sneak peek into the
Frock Shop Chicago’s concept to see what is currently trending on the runway this Spring! As a
leader in the community Burrell will be donating to the non-profit, Migration Heritage
Foundation. MHF provides scholarships to students in underserved communities. A portion of
ticket sales for the fashion show will go towards the foundation. Be sure check out the show as

Frock Shop Chicago to Host Spring in the City Fashion Show
(Chicago) Illinois---Frock Shop Chicago is set to host a fashion show, Spring in the City, on
April 2, 2015, 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. at Lacuna Artist Lofts, 2150 S. Canalport Ave. The event will
showcase the latest spring looks, including the work of designer Suzette Opara. Samantha
Thomas of the Web-based series Small TALK will be the featured host. Tickets range from $10

Frock Shop Chicago is Chicago’s premier dress rental service, carrying designer dresses for
evening wear, prom, dances and more! Dress rental allows customers to experience an evening
of glamour and high fashion for a fraction of the cost of buying a dress.
Owner and founder, Jennifer Burrell, came up with the dress rental concept one day when
cleaning out her closet.
“I noticed my wedding dress, prom dress and pageant dresses just hanging there, taking up
space. I had only worn each of the dresses for a few hours and thought ‘what a waste.’ I thought
of all the other women in this predicament, and the idea for dress rental was born. At the time, I
couldn’t find a place that provided this service, so I decided to find out how to start my own,”
says Burrell.
Burrell’s dream of making designer dresses affordable came to life five years ago when she
opened Frock Shop Chicago in the Pilsen neighborhood. The shop hosts more than 200 dresses
from numerous designers, including BCBG Max Azria, Rachel Zoe, Nicole Miller, Herve Leger,
Tadashi Shoji, Alice and Olivia, Parker, Clover Canyon, Sue Wong, Adrianna Papell, Calvin
Klein, Jovani, Sherri Hill and TERANI COUTRE. All are hand-selected by Burrell and Frock
Shop Chicago’s local buyers.
In continuance of Frock Shop Chicago’s tradition of giving back to the community, a portion of
ticket sales will be donated to the non-profit organization Migration Heritage Foundation (MHF).
MHF awards scholarships to college-bound high school graduates, GED recipients and currently
enrolled college students.
