use, develop or challenge forms and conventions
of real media products.
2. Conventions of film
openings
There are different conventions of
film openings, these conventions are
based on the genre of the movie.
3. Establishing
Genre
The first convention is establishing the
genre; When establishing the genre of the
movie it is vital to set up the theme which
helps create the mood for the rest of the
movie
4. Sound
The second convention is sound; sound is vital because it
creates the atmosphere. Sound also creates tension which
is good for the film because it gets the audience hooked
which means it makes them want to continue watching
the movie.
We used Foley sounds and other forms of sounds using
soundtrack pro which helped us this helped us
use, develop and challenge forms and conventions of real
media products.
5. Titles
The title is the third convention; the title
includes, the production company-the ident which
always comes first in the process then depending on
the importance of the person either the main actors
or the director usually the directors name appears
first. Then the name of the film will appear towards
the end of the titles.
I was in charge of adding titles for our film opening.
We have previously come across adding titles in, in
two occasions, the re-editing and the prelim. This
helped us understand how titles work and the
sequence titles normally come in, in Hollywood
movies
7. Location
For our film we would needed a quiet room
which resembles a house
And a location of a busy street with a police
van driving . The streets of Islington should
be fine, and there is a police station nearby
as well for filming police vehicles.
These locations are the most popular within
our genre in real media products
