About Jessie Daniels (PhD) is an internationally recognized expert on the Internet manifestations of racism and teaches at CUNY.
She is the author of two books about race and various forms of media, White Lies (1997) and Cyber Racism (2009), as well as dozens of peer-reviewed articles.Daniels has also done research with young men leaving Rikers Island, New York City’s largest jail. This research explored the role of masculinity and race in promoting health and a paper based on that research recently won the Sarah Mazelis Paper of the Year Award for 2011.
