Connection to The Kite Runner The kids were taught to not be friends with Hazaras and were highly ddiscriminated against. – Hassan and Amir couldn’t have a good relationship – Hassan raped by Aseef – Children (boys) must also be taught that women are less than men and that they must obey men’s orders or there would be consequences
  8. 8. Questions Can Rasheed’s actions be justified because of his circumstances? ( Does the “why” matter?) Can the murder of Rasheed be justified due to the circumstances? (Does the “why” matter?) Would Laila’s outcome still be the same if Rasheed hadn’t been violent in their marriage? Was Mariam’s will to turn herself in a form of strength or weakness?
