Jesimiel Damina grew up watching cartoons and Disney movies, and did not imagine that one day she would make them. She is from northern Nigeria but was raised in southern Nigeria, and was immersed in conventions, crusades, and live performances through her beliefs and culture. She wanted to work in media/entertainment and really liked telling stories through songs and fiction. She went to study screenplay writing in Mumbai, India, and later heard about Full Sail University where she chose to study computer animation with the goal of returning home to start her own company.
