  • 2. ABOUT THE EVENT The ImpulseOne concert and live event series, hosted by Amalgamated Media and the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, is a charity concert series benefiting a different charity or cause with every event that we put on. Among the various causes in which we believe, the one that seems to stick out the most to us is the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Since 1982, the Susan G. Komen has played a critical role in every major advance in the fight against breast cancer – transforming how the world talks about and treats this disease and helping to turn millions of breast cancer patients into breast cancer survivors. We all believe that the proper initiative can make a serious difference, especially if that initiative is taken by the youth. 15% of the proceeds will benefit various charities selected by both the Board of Directors and a popular vote (to take place on the #AMI website’s homepage, Facebook, and Twitter). The first four concerts (to take place at University of Albany, Lehigh University, Syracuse University, and University of Michigan) will benefit the Susan G. Komen foundation. Our target date for this event is November 8th, 2013. The featured artists that we are in the process of booking are A$AP Rocky, a New-York bred rapper who broke onto the scene in 2011 with his debut mixtape “Love, Live, A$AP”, and later made it to the top of the Billboard charts with singles off of his debut album by the same name; and DJ Kap Slap, who has over the last 2 years topped the charts on notorious music charting website, The Hype Machine. With his upcoming release on the horizon, he looks forward to establishing his musicianship as more than legitimate, but as superlative, as well as creating his most exhilarating and captivating musical experiences yet. LOCATION OF THE EVENT The first event will take place at The Armory, a historic venue in Albany, NY. Located conveniently less than 10 minutes away from the University of Albany, The Armory serves as the perfect venue for this event. With its recently re-issued capacity of 2600 people (down from 4,000), the population demand serves in the favor of the concert producers, considering that a lesser population equates to a higher likelihood of selling out, and less time needed to allocate to risk management. SCHOOLS INVOLVED Considering that the target audience for the first event will be students between the ages of 17 and 22, we will market specifically to that age group. One of the benefits of the venue’s location is that The Armory is within a close vicinity to various schools. With that being said, we have decided to reach out to the following schools (including target number of attendees): University of Albany (600 concertgoers) Union College (500 concertgoers) Sienna College (450 concertgoers) Sage University (500 concertgoers) Rensaleer Polytechnical Institute (450 concertgoers)
  • 3. Obviously taking into consideration that SUNY Albany is our partnering school for this event, a majority of the attendance will be from that University in particular. As a promotional tool to get the word out about the event, we will be putting on a party with Kappa Sigma at University of Albany, during which we will hand out merchandise such as stickers, beer sleeves, and promotional clothing. The DJ at the party will be Brendan Farr. The party is to take place on October 12th at 9:00pm. Not only in terms of profitability, but in terms of making a serious change in various communities as well. It has been proven that people are more inclined to help a charity if it is at no extra cost to them. While we wish that this was not the case, and that everybody was highly inclined to help a charity, we have certainly determined a high market need for an event series like ImpulseOne. The concert and event series will also serve as a substantial promotional platform for every party involved (Amalgamated Media, Kappa Sigma, Compound Magazine, and ImpulseOne, as well as any other cause or charity on board with our mission.) Together, we can make a change by delivering the medium between the arts and charity. Thank you.
