  • 1. Pursuant to the provisions ofparagraph (e), article II, of RA7836, otherwise known as the“Philippine TeachersProfessionalization Act of 1994”and paragraph (a) section 6 ofPD 223, as amended, the Boardof professional Teachers adoptand promulgates the “Code ofEthics for Professional
  • 2. Teachers are duly licensedprofessionals who possessdignity and reputation with highmoral values as well as technicaland professional competence. Inthe practice of their nobleprofession, they strictly adhereto, observe and practice this setof ethical and moral principals,standards, and values.
  • 3. Article I(Scope and Limitation)
  • 4.  All educational institutions shall offer quality education for all Filipino citizens This code shall apply to all teachers in all schools in the Philippines including persons performing supervisory and/or administrative functions.
  • 5. Article II(The Teacher and the State)
  • 6.  The schools are nurseries of the future citizens of the state Each teacher is a trustee of the cultural and educational heritage of the nation
  • 7.  Under obligation to transmit to learners such heritage as well as elevate national morality, promote national pride, cultivate love of country, instill allegiance to the Constitution and respect for all duly constituted authorities, and promote obedience to the laws of the state
  • 8. Article III(The Teacher and the Community)
  • 9. The teacher as: An intellectual leader, initiator, and implementor of projects A counselor An achiever And shall harmonious and pleasant personal and official relations with other professionals, government officials and with the community
  • 10. Article IV(The Teacher and the Profession)
  • 11. The teacher Shall maintain the nobility and dignity of the teaching profession Shall continue professional growth to improve efficiency
  • 12. Article V(The Teacher and the Teaching Community)
  • 13. Emphasizes that theteacher shall be imbuedwith the spirit ofprofessional loyalty, mutualconfidence and faith in oneanother, self sacrifice forthe common good, and fullcooperation with
  • 14. Article VI(The Teacher and the Higher Authorities in the Profession)
  • 15.  It is the duty of every teacher to make an honest effort to understand and support the policies of the school administration Refrain from transacting any business in all illegal manner
  • 16. Article VII (School officials,Teachers and Other Personnel)
  • 17.  All school officials, teachers and personnel shall show professional courtesy, helpfulness and sympathy to one another, and Exhibit cooperative responsibility to formulate changes for the systems at all levels
  • 18. Article VIII(The Teacher and the Learner)
  • 19.  Discuss the rights and duties of a teacher to the learners The first and foremost concern of the teacher is the recognition of the interest and welfare of the students Deals with students impartially and justly
  • 20. Article IX(The teacher and the Parents)
  • 21. The teacher shall: Establish and maintain cordial relations with parents Inform term of the progress of their children Seek their cooperation for proper guidance of their children Hear parents’ complaints with sympathy and understanding
  • 22. Article X(The Teacher and Business)
  • 23.  Legitimizes income- generating activities of the teachers that these do not adversely affect their work as teachers Maintains good reputation with respect to financial matters
  • 24. Article XI(The Teacher as a Person)
  • 25. Teachers shall maintain adignified personalitywhether in school, in thehome, or elsewhere whichcould serve as a model,worthy of emulation bylearners, peers and others
  • 26. Article XII(Disciplinary Action)
  • 27. Warns that any violation of anyprovisions of this code shall besufficient ground for theimposition of disciplinary action,revocation of Certification ofRegistration and License as aprofessional teacher, suspensionfrom teaching, reprimand, orcancellation of permit
