  2. 2. Need more help? Email: Jen.Eidelman@uct.ac.za Too many results? ScienceDirect Refine the results of your search in the ‘Refine Results’ section. For Example you only want articles from 2011 to 2014 Tick the boxes in the ‘Year’ area and click the ‘Limit to’ button. By doing this, your existing search results will be refined to include only articles published between 2011-2014.

  5. 5. You can Limit (reduce) the amount of results of your search in the refine results section. To refine your results means that you can make the search more specific and relevant. Too many results? Web of Science
  6. 6. • Tick the small down arrow in any one of the areas in which you would like to refine your search. • For Example in the ‘Research Areas’ section, you can tick the ‘Genetics and Heredity’ box. By doing this, your existing search results will be refined to include only articles that relate to Genetics and Heredity. • Click the refine button.
