Libguides at UCT: Using SlideShare Sign up with ‘SlideShare’ to create an online slideshow. ‘SlideShare’ is a good way to sharepresentations, documents and professional videos. ‘SlideShare’ allows you to upload your PowerPointpresentations. ‘SlideShare’ then converts it, so that you can embed the slideshow in your guide. http://www.slideshare.net/
  • 2. Libguides at UCT: Using SlideShare • First create your PowerPoint presentation. • When you are happy with it, go to SlideShare and login. • Click UPLOAD to begin uploading your presentation.
  • 3. Libguides at UCT: Using SlideShare To upload one file at a time click on the ‘Trouble Uploading’ tab. (The upload seems to work faster using this link)

  • 6. Libguides at UCT: Using SlideShare While SlideShare is converting your file….. Fill in some information in the ‘Tags’ field and the ‘Description’ field. Wait for the file to convert….

  • 9. Libguides at UCT: Using SlideShare Go to the menu bar at the top – click on the down arrow and choose ‘My Uploads’. This will give you a list of all your uploads.

  • 15. Libguides at UCT: Using SlideShare Go to Libguides. Choose ‘Add New Box’
  • 16. Libguides at UCT: Using SlideShare Choose ‘Multimedia boxes’ and then ‘Embedded Media and Widgets’ from the drop down menu
  • 17. Libguides at UCT: Using SlideShare Fill in the ‘Box title’ and ‘Position’ and then click ‘Create Box’
  • 18. Libguides at UCT: Using SlideShare Click ‘Add Media/Widget Code’ Paste the code that you copied from SlideShare in the ‘Embed Code’ box. ‘Save Changes’
