    • 1. Chocolate Cupcakes withChocolate Frosting
    • 2. Getting Started Preheat oven to 350° Place baking cups in muffin tin Gather ingredients
    • 3. Dry Ingredients 2 cups white sugar 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt
    • 4. Other Ingredients 3 eggs 1 cup milk 1/2 cup vegetable oil 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1/2 cup boiling water
    • 5. Time to mix it up! In a medium bowl stir together sugar flour cocoa baking soda baking powder salt
    • 6. Keep Going… Oil Milk Vanilla Add the eggs, one at a time Mix for 3 minutes, until batter is smooth Stir in the boiling water by hand
    • 7. Almost There… Fill baking cups 2/3 Place pan in oven Bake for 20 minutes* Oven times vary
    • 8. Frosting 5 cups confectioners sugar 1 1/2 cups unsweetened cocoa powder 3/4 cup shortening 2/3 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 9. Making the Frosting Cream butter until light and fluffy Stir in the cocoa and confectioners sugar alternately with the milk and vanilla Stir to a spreading consistency.
