  • 1. Is Eve responsible for misleading Adam? Comparison between Bible & Quran
  • 2. Is Eve Evil?  Eve is generally considered to be the one who was mislead by Satan.  So all the blame falls on her for getting Adam (as) to eat the forbidden fruit and to get mankind out of heaven  It is also considered that because of this original sin, women have to bear the pains of childbirth as a punishment
  • 3. Is Eve Evil?  In the following presentation, we will see the basis of these allegations  We will see the Christian view point and the Islamic view point from their original books Bible & Quran
  • 4. What the Bible says? King James Version Book of Genesis
  • 5. Satan misleads Eve       3.1:Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?   3:2:And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3:3:But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.   3:4:And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:   3:5:For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.   3:6:And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. King James Version, Book of Genesis
  • 6. According to Bible    3:11:And He (God)said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?   3:12:And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. 3:13:And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat King James Version, Book of Genesis
  • 7. Eve’s sorrow   3:16:Unto the woman he (God) said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. 3:17:And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
  • 8. What the Quran says?
  • 9. Satan misleads both Adam & Eve  Then Satan whispered to them, disclosing to them their private parts that had been concealed from them. He said, 'Your Lord has only forbidden you this tree lest you become angels or among those who live for ever.' He swore to them, 'I am one of those who give you good advice.' So he enticed them to do it by means of trickery. Then when they tasted the tree, their private parts were disclosed to them and they started stitching together the leaves of the Garden in order to cover themselves. Their Lord called out to them, 'Did I not forbid you this tree and say to you, "Satan is an outright enemy to you"?' (Surat al-A'raf, 20-22)
  • 10. Satan misleads both  But Satan whispered to him, saying, 'Adam, shall I show you the way to the Tree of Everlasting Life and to a kingdom which will never fade away?' So the two of them ate from it and their private parts were disclosed to them and they started stitching together the leaves of the Garden to cover themselves. Adam disobeyed his Lord and became misled. (Surah Ta Ha, 120-121)
  • 11. Allah forgives  Then Adam received from his Lord Words. And his Lord pardoned him. Verily, He is one who forgives, the Most Merciful.  We Said:" Get down all of you from this place (the paradise), then whenever there comes to you Guidance from Me, and whoever follows My Guidance, there shall be no fear on them, nor shall they grieve.  (Surah Baqarah 37,38)
  • 12. Story of Adam Christianity Vs Islam
  • 13. Who is to blame?   The verses from the Bible and Quran make it very clear that it is ONLY the Christian account that puts the entire blame on Eve and also shows the low status of women in Christianity by the punishment of conception and labor Islam uplifts the status of women. Both Adam and Eve were mislead by Satan, who is the real culprit and Allah forgives them before they are sent to Earth. There is NO original sin in Islam.
