Focus on their needs and wants to ensure yours are met
Look into who they are, their strengths and weaknesses and offer them assistance
People love hearing about themselves, especially saying their name
Use their name as often as possible, they will like it and you will probably remember it
Vendors are here to support you and play a vital role in your success
Use vendors that allow for a hands off approach to free up your time for other tasks
Sometimes Vendors offer training sessions to improve either your product knowledge or your skill set as it applies to them – these are excellent opportunities to fine tune your skills without financially supporting the training
People are more adept to do business with people that they like and at first meeting an opinion is passed on you
Don’t be afraid to extend your hand to people, they will be glad you did and it shows confidence in yourself
Know what is going on in the world around you, often times conversations are more than business and a sale
Having an Open mind will allow you to pick through the coal for the diamonds
You have to constantly fill your pipeline with opportunities – either potential prospects or furthering existing relationships
Talk to people and stay up on your industry will open many doors and you will see gaps that can be filled
