    • The movement andhippie culture was bornin the year 60/70 in theU.S.A. It was amovement that refusedthe injustices andinequalities ofAmericansociety, including racialsegregation.
    • Adopted religionslike Buddhism andthe religions ofNative Americancultures. Disagreewith the capitalisteconomies andtotalitarian.
    • The hippies chose a nomadic lifestyle leaving thecomfort of their homes. They lived in communitieswith other hippies. As they had a communallifestyle being in communion with nature, lived andproduced independently of the formal markets.

    • History• Heavy metal fans have created a "subculture of alienation" with its ownstandards for achieving authenticity within the group. They formed anexclusionary youth community which was distinctive and marginalizedfrom the mainstream society. The heavy metal developed a stronglymasculine community with shared values, norms, and behaviors. A code ofauthenticity is central to the heavy metal subculture.
