  • 2. Chapter 28 and Chapter 29 <ul><li>Plot (At the point of the story) </li></ul><ul><li>The main characters are panicking about them crushing into the rainbow . (Chpt 28) </li></ul><ul><li>Centipede became stiff by the rainbow-paint. (Chpt 29) </li></ul>
  • 3. Characters <ul><li>2 main characters; </li></ul><ul><li>JAMES : </li></ul><ul><li>It is because the writer keeps talking about what James’ thinking. He also tells a lot about his information and knows how James felt at that time. </li></ul><ul><li>AUNT SPONGE: It is because he keep talking about her attitude, tell where she lives and tells every details she looks like. </li></ul>

Theme <ul><li>Chapt 28 : </li></ul><ul><li>Earthworm lost sense of location “if the peach is leaking then we surely sink” </li></ul><ul><li>Centipede is very afraid “centipede, going white in the face” </li></ul><ul><li>Cloudman is actually painting “they were splashing the paint on to the great curvy arch in a frenzy of speed” </li></ul><ul><li>The cloud men’s rainbow are beautiful “Oh, isn’t it beautiful” </li></ul><ul><li>They could not control where the peach goes “heading directly towards th rainbow, travelling rather fast.” </li></ul><ul><li>The peach destroyed the rainbow ‘the enormous rainbow snapped right across the middle and became 2 separate pieced.” </li></ul><ul><li>Cloud man is really furious “Pelting them mercilessly with all sorts of hard and horrible objects.” </li></ul>
  • 5. Theme <ul><li>Chpt 29 : </li></ul><ul><li>Grasshopper could not believe that the paint could dry so fast “ but how could it possibly have dried so quickly?” </li></ul>

Difficult words <ul><li>Shimmering (Chpt 28, page 115, line 26) </li></ul><ul><li>Meaning : shine with a soft wavering light . </li></ul><ul><li>Sentence :The stars are scattered all over the sky like shimmering tears, there must be great pain in the eye from which they trickled.&quot; </li></ul>
  • 7. Difficult words <ul><li>Peering (Chpt 28, page 116, line 4) </li></ul><ul><li>Meaning : to peep out or appear slightly . </li></ul><ul><li>Sentence : The lonely boy was peering through the windows while the class was playing some games . </li></ul>
  • 8. Difficult words <ul><li>Arch (Chpt 28, pg 116, line 15) </li></ul><ul><li>Meaning : a sculpture with a curve top that supports the weight of a bridge/a building . </li></ul><ul><li>Sentence : We walk under an arch into a small courtyard . </li></ul>
