2. 2. Introduction This presentation provides some information if you are curious about certified nursing assistant (CNA) wages if you are considering taking CNA training classes to become a certified nursing assistant. CNAs are a crucial part of the healthcare industry and there is a constant need for nursing assistants whether in medical facilities, nursing homes, etc. CNAs perform various tasks related to patients that may include basic tasks such as bathing, grooming, feeding, changing bed linens, etc, in addition to providing emotional support to the patients. CNAs are sometimes the personnel that spend the most time with the patient to meet their every need as well as to provide the support needed by patients during their stay at the facility. Taking CNA training classes will ensure that the nursing assistant knows how to properly perform the tasks required.
 3. 3. Reasons To Become A CNA

The individuals that usually excel at being a certified nursing assistant do not usually enter this field because of the pay. These are usually individuals that want to be of service to others that greatly need their assistance to lead as normal a life as possible. These individuals are usually compassionate, kind, discreet, are great with people, have great communication skills, are caring, etc.

 5. 5. Compared To Nurses

When compared to others in the medical field such as nurses, the pay for CNAs is low by comparison. The demands placed on certified nursing assistants may be so great that they may feel that the pay is not commensurate with the duties of a nursing assistant which may lead some to feel abused, angry and underappreciated. If you decide to take CNA training classes simply for the money, you shall be disappointed if you are expecting to make a lot of money.

Pay varied based upon many factors such as qualifications, experience, the facility that the CNA will work for, job location, etc. Many employers do provide full time certified nursing assistants with fringe benefits such as paid vacation, sick days, medical and hospital benefits, over-time pay, etc.
 7. 7. Median certified nursing assistant wages are about $25,000 to $30,000 per year with about 10% of nursing assistants receiving a bit more in wages and about 10% getting less than the average. Although this is entry level, the pay is definitely above minimum wage in addition to getting fringe benefits.
