  • 2. 1. Overview – How it works Design Features of the Scheme • Launched 1st July 2011 – 6 or 9 month internships • Dedicated Website www.jobbridge.ie • €50 top-up internship allowance and customer maintains their current SW entitlement • Paid by Department of Social Protection by EFT
  • 3. 1. Overview – How it works Why take on an intern? • To Access potential future employees • To Enhance the performance of your organisation • To Bring in fresh talent, ideas, thinking • To give an unemployed person the opportunity to gain relevant work experience
  • 4. 1. Overview – How it works Is your organisation eligible? • Open to private, public or community and voluntary sectors • May not have vacancies in the area of activity in which the internship is offered • May not displace an employee • Must be compliant with health & safety and all other legal requirements
  • 5. 1. Overview – How it works How many internships can an organisation have? • 1-10 employees - 1 Internship place • 11-20 employees – 2 Internship places • 21-30 employees – 3 Internship places • 30+ employees – 20% or 200 places
  • 6. 1. Overview – How it works Jobseeker Eligibility • Must be on the Live Register, in receipt of JA/JB, DA, OPF, or signing for credits for at least 3 months (at commencement date of internship) out of last 6 months. • Individuals may avail of maximum of 2 placements (total cumulative time cannot exceed 9 months (39 weeks).
  • 7. 1. Overview – How it works The Process • Online Process for Registering and Advertising • 3 compulsory steps: – 1. Standard Agreement – 2. Enter start date on system – 3. HO logs on monthly, to complete 2 online questions – 4. Reference and Feedback at end • Monitoring
  • 8. 2. Progress to date Current Position – 20th June 2013 • 1,938 internships currently advertised • 18,416 jobseekers have commenced internships • 5,983 jobseekers currently on an Internship
  • 9. 2. Progress to date Indecon Report – Launched by Taoiseach 1st May • 52% of all JobBridge finishers progressed into employment • 61% rate of progression – 5 months after internship • European averages 34% - 2011 OECD Pan-European Study

Progress to date Indecon Report – Launched by Taoiseach 1st May • 96% of companies would recommend JB to another employer • 91% of companies were satisfied with their overall engagement with Scheme • 89% of interns stated JB had given them new skills • Vast majority of employers and interns gain significantly from scheme participation
