Then Hummingbird came along, and a lot of people started to claim that SEO is dead. This couldn't be further from the truth, however. Search engines are still alive and well, and more people are using Google now than ever before. It's entirely possible to build a strong SEO campaign that can help your site rank, but you have to understand that things are different now than they were five years ago. In fact, there have been a lot of changes in the past year or so. Therefore, it's essential to learn how to create compelling content that ranks well in the aftermath of Hummingbird, Penguin and Panda. What You Should Know You might not understand the changes that came from these algorithm updates, but it's critical to understand how these updates have changed the way that we have to look at SEO. In the past, it was possible to rank a site with some clever copywriting; by tucking keywords and key phrases into certain parts of your content and building tons of backlinks, you could make your site dominate the search engines. This old- fashioned SEO approach just isn't effective anymore, and it could actually do more harm than good. To understand how to proceed, you have to understand the changes that were made in these updates. Google got tired of spam websites ranking high on the search results, so they started looking at how people were making these sites appear so high. Then, they

In fact, the things that might have made your site rank at the top a few years ago can cause your site to be de-indexed today. Basically, Google is looking for spam -- for example, keyword-stuffed articles and blog posts or backlinks that aren't very meaningful. Nowadays, it only wants the best websites to rank, and this equals websites that have interesting, informative content that doesn't feature too many keywords or too much spam. It wants websites with strong, natural backlinks. To achieve this, you have to create compelling content that people -- not just search engines -- actually want to read.

If you have ever heard of Black Hat SEO, you know about those who will do just about anything to make their websites rank. This helped a lot of people get high rankings in the past and helped many of these people to make a ton of money, but this isn't relevant or even possible anymore through these scam and spam tactics. This is actually a good thing, so you shouldn't worry; now, instead of worrying about fighting against those who are using less-than-savory techniques and instead of using SEO methods that you aren't exactly proud of, you can focus on doing things for your site that will help you boost both your ranking and your reputation. People don't like and don't want to see spam in today's online world. There is too much good, high-quality content out there for people to want to waste their time with that type of garbage. Google is interested in satisfying searchers and wants to provide those who are using its service with the information that they're looking for. This means that Google is looking for high-quality content that actually provides some sort of value. The search engines are getting smarter and smarter, and they can detect spam and such more than you think. This doesn't mean that they know everything, though; that's why you should focus on a few SEO-based techniques while also writing great content. This will help satisfy the search engines, but it has other benefits as well: It will satisfy those who come to your site.
  • 6. Get the latest update of this report here: RamboWriter.com 6 By doing so, you will encourage people to bookmark your site, come back on a regular basis and trust you as an expert in your field of choice. It will also encourage them to want to link to your site from their own blogs, which can help you boost your rankings as well. Basically, proper SEO in today's world is actually more effective and more reputable than ever before; you simply have to know how to write good content that will work well for search engine rankings and readers at the same time.
  • 7. Get the latest update of this report here: RamboWriter.com 7 How to Create Compelling Content So, you get it: You need to be creating articles and blog posts that people will actually want to read. But, you could be wondering how you can do it while still ranking well. Here are a few things to keep in mind for optimal success: - Keywords Are Still Important Anyone who tells you that keywords aren't really important isn't really telling you the truth. However, the way that you look at keywords needs to be different. You should still incorporate keywords into your content if you want to rank for these said keywords, but you shouldn't stuff your content with them. Using them sparingly is enough for the search engines to pick them up without penalizing you for spam, and the number of times that you use your keywords will obviously depend on how long your articles are; basically, you're looking to achieve a certain density that shows that "Yes, this is what the article is about" without coming across as if you are trying to trick the search engine spiders. Plus, it's important to use the right keywords. You want to use keywords that are being searched for often enough to be worth the effort but that aren't being ranked by millions of other websites. There are plenty of keyword research tools that you can use to come up with the right keywords and key phrases. -The Title Matters
  • 8. Get the latest update of this report here: RamboWriter.com 8 Don't just pick a random title; put some thought into it. Make it something compelling and that people will want to click on, but make sure that it features your keyword or keyphrase for SEO purposes. Not only will this make a difference when people see your site on the search results, but it can also have an impact when people link to your article; since the keyword will be in the anchor text when they link to your content, it will help your rankings even further. -What's Inside Counts? You can spend all of your time finding the perfect keywords and weaving them carefully into your content, but all of this will be a waste if your content isn't any good. The key is to make sure that your content really has something to offer: It needs to be intriguing, informative and entertaining for it to really be successful in the search engine rankings. Basically, you have to make it good enough that your peers will want to link to it naturally, so take your time on it. Also, be absolutely certain that your content is unique: If you place copied content on your site, your rankings are pretty much doomed. -META Tags Many people debate on whether or not META tags have an impact on your search engine rankings, but that really doesn't matter anyway. The point is to come up with a META description that tells about your content and encourages people to click. -Links People who are interested in your article will probably be interested in other related topics, plus the search engines love outbound links just as much as they love inbound links to your site. Sprinkle in a few links every 100 to 150 words throughout your

Get the latest update of this report here: RamboWriter.com 9 content; some should be to other posts on your site, and others can be to authoritative links on other domains. -Focus on Your Landing Page When people arrive at your site to take a peek at your article, they might be interested in learning more about what your website has to offer. Plus, certain tactics can increase your chances of ranking high on the search engines. Basically, you have to make sure that your content page is well-optimized and that it features easy links -- such as on the side of the page -- so that people can navigate to other areas of your site. -Make It Readable Your content should be easy-to-read and understand; otherwise, you'll lose interest very quickly. Make sure that you speak to your audience in the way that they want to be spoken to; believe it or not, Google is looking for sites that talk about the keywords in a way that people want them to be talked about. Using the right language, breaking your content up into subheadings and lists and making other efforts to make it easy-to- read can make all the difference.
  • 10. Get the latest update of this report here: RamboWriter.com 10 Other Things to Keep in Mind Creating content that readers want will make all the difference in the world. Although you will want to keep keywords and such in mind, that just isn't enough anymore. Focusing on the above-mentioned tips can help you create articles and blog posts that people and search engines can both get excited about, but you will want to keep other things in mind as well. -Backlinks A long time ago, you could purchase hundreds or even thousands of backlinks to help your site soar to the top. Now, if you get caught, your site will be penalized severely, so it's best to build them on your own. You can still submit high-quality content to sites like EzineArticles, but you should be careful when doing so; remember the same rules for high-quality content, and don't send out slightly-changed articles by the dozen or hundred or you could see a lot more harm than good. Instead, focus on building up high-quality backlinks from natural, real readers who are interested in your content and who want to link to it from their own sites. -Spam Whatever you do, you should avoid anything and everything that Google might see as spam. Posting countless links on popular blog comments is a terrible idea. Spinning articles and posting them over and over again all over the Web just don't work in the aftermath of Panda, Penguin and Hummingbird. No matter what, you should avoid all types of spam like the plague.
  • 11. Get the latest update of this report here: RamboWriter.com 11 -Guest Blogging Some people claim that guest blogging is dead, but it doesn't have to be -- it just has to be done correctly. You have to post your guests posts on a blog that is reputable and well-respected and that has high rankings itself. Plus, you also have to make sure that your posts are of the utmost quality -- if you wouldn't post them on your own website, you shouldn't post them on anyone else's, either. -Inbound Links Keep an eye on all of the websites that link to your site, and make sure that they are all links that you can be proud of. Even if you weren't the one that posted them, links on spam websites can jeopardize your rankings significantly, regardless of how high- quality your content might be. If you find that less-than-savory websites are linking to your page, you should work hard to have them removed as quickly as possible. -Outbound Links The focus shouldn't be solely on drumming up as many backlinks as possible anymore. Although strong backlinks definitely have a pretty big impact on how well your site ranks, adding links within your content is also important. Add links to other pages within your site, and link to websites and articles that you like and that you think your readers will find interesting. It will make a difference in your rankings, and it will help your readers find the information that they're looking for at the same time. Moving on after major Google updates like Penguin, Panda and Hummingbird can seem intimidating. A lot of people saw their search engine rankings fall significantly
  • 12. Get the latest update of this report here: RamboWriter.com 12 after these updates, and you could be afraid of the same thing yourself. You shouldn't give up on SEO just because there have been recent changes, however. These changes can be a very positive thing as long as you continue to create compelling content and follow a few basic methods and ideas, and you can actually see your search engine rankings soar higher than before while also building a reputation for your site that you can be proud of. If you don't know how to create this type of content, you shouldn't worry; you aren't the only one. There are a lot of great SEO copywriter professionals out there who can help. If you're looking for a way to create high-quality content that will help you rank high on the search engines, hiring a professional could absolutely be the right move. Then, you won't have to worry about any of the stress that goes along with writing compelling content that will help your site succeed -- instead, you can focus on other important things for your site while this difficult work is being taken care of for you. ****************************************
