  • An interesting observation of ISO/IEC 17025 is that now also “software” are affected and under “document control”
  • Lower cost of ownership… We have to take under consideration not only the initial cost of the workload, but also what the lifetime cost will be. From Fluke we year by year will challenge you with new generations of DMMs that provides you with more value for your investments.
  • Scope trends. Today a scope has become much more than the old “look-and-se” device. It has much more measurement capabilities and functionality&apos;s than we have been used to. They are commonly more and more used in complex and important production tests where the quality and traceability is a must. Down-time and low cost of owner ship is highly important.
  • Looking upon the trends in instrumentation. The development of newer generation T&amp;M gear goes rapidly. We mentioned hybrid’s. The Fluke ScopeMeter is a good example of such. Also more accurate devices combined with more functionality is a trend.
  • Asset Management? If we have such a system in place, we sure shall demand more functionality and utilize them. Calibration should not be a task we do just for it’s own sake. Optimizing the re-call of assets, providing quality feedback where we for instance can detect abnormal quality behavior, perhaps by model number or users failed UUTs are examples of how a system can actually save money for us in the long term. Data integrity, well not only shall we have the right data in the right hands, but the integrity of he data with password protection etc. is also important.
  • Cost control can include many things. Faster throughput is obvious, asset utilization is also an area where which could let us optimize engineering time and save us money and effort. All of functionality&apos;s that we should demand from such a system.
