Position Description Title: WAMS (Works and Asset Management System) Manager Position Number: 1479 Division: Electricity Networks Branch: System Control / Business Systems Salary Range: SO C - tbc Purpose: To manage Electricity Networks’ Works and Asset Management System (WAMS) and associated processes and data, including the systems usage, development/enhancement and implementation across the Division as well as the support and training of users. The WAMS Manager will work as part of a small team of technical specialists on asset related IT projects and be responsible for achieving project milestones whilst establishing a reputation for environmental and commercial excellence across the business, by the year 2010. The position includes an obligation to actively support ActewAGL to carry out work in a way that does not put ActewAGL in breach of any legislative or regulatory obligations and in accordance with the ActewAGL Code of Conduct. ActewAGL will have responsibility to provide suitable training of the legal obligations relevant to your work and to ActewAGL business undertakings. Under the ActewAGL Life Guard system, this position is required to participate fully in all aspects of health, safety and environment management within ActewAGL, including risk assessment, hazard identification and control and incident reporting. Position Description Works and Asset Management System Manager Group Structure: Manager System Control Network Records Call Centre Control Room Business Controller Manager Manager Systems Manager WAMS Manager Project Team Accountabilities: Business Goals • Strategic direction for WAMS including developing and managing system enhancements and data capture needs to meet user and business requirements • Data management services and technical advice, including the development, implementation and monitoring of asset data standards and business processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy • Data enhancement and business improvement • System documentation and training and user manuals • Form design, query functions and specialist reporting services • Delivering project milestones • Achieve the Branch, Section goals and objectives Communication and Reporting • Disseminate information to stakeholders in a timely manner • Provide improvements on processes and systems • Project and system documentation • Attend and participate in Section and Branch meetings • Regularly report status of performance, issues and projects to Section Manager. Motivation, Coaching and Teamwork • Ensure user training needs are met. • Provide coaching and technical assistance to users. • Tier 2 support for WAMS in combination with IT help desk • Ensure all direct reports are performing at optimum levels through leading, coaching and motivating • Give and receive regular feedback on performance • Conduct development reviews on a six monthly and annual basis • Use leadership coaching skills to develop the competencies of team members • Ensure training and development needs of team are met.
