  • Our new company is called Thomson Reuters. The company will operate under two divisions – Thomson Reuters Professional and Thomson Reuters Markets – unified by the common goal to provide the world’s professional markets with Intelligent Information to create Knowledge to Act. The Professional Division houses predominantly the assets of the former Thomson companies in Legal, Healthcare, Scientific, and Tax & Accounting. The Markets Division unites the tremendously complementary assets of Reuters and Thomson Financial to serve the world’s financial services professionals and the global media community.

Reuters strengths in real time market data and news with Thomson Financials strengths in deep historical and insight based content and analytics will provide our customers with all of the information they need for any trading or investment decision. Additionally, Reuters traditional focus on the sell side with Thomson’s buy side and corporate market footprint creates one community where all the players in the world’s markets can now meet - in a unique, large and global electronic marketplace - "The Professional Internet.” For example Sell-Side execution to buy side trading; Investment banking advisory to corporate development offices; Corporate investor relations and buy side investing. Through new combined offerings, Thomson Reuters will be able to offer complete pre-trade, trade and post-trade workflow solutions with deeper analytics, broader multi-asset class content & news, seamless workflow tools and trusted applications for Risk Management, Accounting & Transaction Processing. From Asset Managers and Wealth Managers to Sales Traders and Hedge Funds, Thomson Reuters delivers tailored workflow solutions and deep commentary and analysis that drive clients’ performance and efficiency. The breadth and depth of our information makes us the one stop shop to fuel decision making.
  • You may not know much about who Thomson Financial or Reuters was before this merger, but we’re sure that you have heard of some of our brands. These are some of our best known assets.
  • The approach we have taken to our product strategy is simple and has three parts. 1.Chose the best of breed --With this merger we are combining unparalleled content and functionality. So naturally we will draw from the very best assets that Reuters and Thomson bring to the table. In so doing, we will be stepping up the value we offer to each of our customers. In the coming 18 months all customers can expect upgrades in content , functionality or connectivity-- and we will work with you to assure they are delivered as seamlessly as possible.
