    • LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT Taking Diversity to the Next Level: Implications for Leadership Development 제목 In this session, you will have four concrete experiences. First, you will explore arguments that the field of diversity is stuck, and that diversity management is a misunderstood and underutilized leadership framework. Second, you will hear the contention that, if properly understood and used, diversity management possesses enormous potential for fostering effective management. Third, you will be exposed to Strategic Diversity Management™ as a decision-making craft with definitions and terminology, principles, processes, tools, and practice requirements. This craft will be positioned as a vehicle that can serve as the bridge to the next level. Finally, you will leave the session with a clear sense of what the next level of diversity will be, and the nature of the education, training, and development efforts required to advance your organization and its leaders to this higher state. 개요 Use Strategic Diversity Management™ as a vehicle to take your diversity programs to the next level. Transform executives into “masters of the craft" in your organization. 학습목표 SU202 세션 No. 3 Level 5/7/2006  12:00 PM-1:15 PM 일시 R. Roosevelt Thomas 강사 The Speed of Trust: 13 Behaviors of Trusted Leaders 제목 What separates great leaders from good ones? What makes someone a manager of choice by her reports, peers, and boss? Told from the perspective of a practitioner and a former CEO of a $100 million company, the speaker will demonstrate how there is nothing as fast—or as profitable—as the speed of trust. He will show how the ability to establish, grow, extend, and restore trust with stakeholders (customers, suppliers, distributors, investors, and co-workers) is the critical leadership competency of the new, global economy. Most important, he will identify the 13 behaviors that highly trusted leaders consistently demonstrate, including what any influencer—at any level—can do to learn and apply these trust-enhancing behaviors. 개요 Quantify the business case for trust. Implement a compelling trust methodology as a means of systematically improving business results. Apply the critical behaviors that establish and grow trust, thereby enabling increased influence and results. 학습목표 SU201 세션 No. 1 Level 5/7/2006  12:00 PM-1:15 PM 일시 Stephen M. R. Covey 강사

In this session, the speaker will focus on three critical steps for successfully leading and managing in this century. The first step will help you shift from a linear mindset to a creative mindset—which gives you the ability to anticipate, embrace, and proactively implement future performance. The second step involves a team exercise to devise high-performance leadership practices and behaviors that are one to three years into the future. The third step is to design of a "quantum jump" leadership plan that operates as though the future existed today—literally, leading from the future. The session ends with the presentation of the systematic process to create the FuturePerfect organization. 개요 Assess and facilitate the transformation to a creative mindset. Implement principles, practices, and behaviors that uniquely define a future-perfect system of operation. Help others perform future-perfect principles, practices, and behaviors. 학습목표 SU213 세션 No. 3 Level 5/7/2006  12:00 PM-1:15 PM 일시 William Guillory 강사
    • LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT A New Map of Leadership: Global Trends Impacting Leaders and Leadership Development 제목 “ The world is flat.” “We are at a tipping point.” “The Pentagon has a new map.” “The keys to the kingdom are changing hands.” “All we have is the next 24 hours.” No matter if it is the words of Friedman, Gladwell, Barnett, Pink, or Enriquez, it is clear that our world is fundamentally shifting and that a new age is upon us. As the landscapes of society and of organizations change, we must re-examine our approaches to leadership development. In this session, the speaker will use popular global trends and current Center for Creative Leadership research to paint a picture of the challenges facing organizations as they seek to develop leaders. Specifically, the content will address the following questions: What global trends will impact organizations in the coming years? How will these trends impact leadership and leadership development? Are there differences in leadership practices in the United States, Europe, and Asia? What developmental approaches will be necessary in the future? 개요 Apply the most important organizational and societal trends to your own programs. Use current research to assess your organizational challenges and needs. Increase awareness of the differences in leadership and leadership development in different geographic areas. 학습목표 SU314 세션 No. 1 Level 5/7/2006  1:45 PM-3:00 PM 일시 Andre Martin 강사 Leadership Development by Leaders: Aligning Collaboration for Success 제목 What can your company’s HR department do to encourage mid-level managers to share lessons learned? How can you ensure that managers capture critical data from these lessons learned, focusing on tangible, measurable results? This session is focused on ways your company can enhance its traditional mid-level leadership-development programs to include mechanisms for leader-to-leader education and support. 개요 Develop a plan to enhance your company's leadership-development program. Use a sample “lessons learned story template” to ensure consistent reporting and a focus on measurable business impact. 학습목표 SU313 세션 No. 3 Level 5/7/2006  1:45 PM-3:00 PM 일시 Carol Friday 강사

You will learn how to apply jazz principles to the workplace. Come and make music with your colleagues using percussion instruments. Jazz becomes a vibrant metaphor for encouraging innovation, dealing with change, balancing solo contributions and collective effort, and exploring individual roles and ensemble goals. You will leave this session with ideas, insights, and techniques for nurturing collaboration and creativity in your organization! 개요 Integrate music into training programs around the themes of teambuilding, managing change, and leadership. • LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT Leading Into the Future: A Global Study of Leadership 제목 In 2005, The American Management Association (AMA) and the Human Resources Institute (HRI) conducted a major worldwide survey on leadership—the challenges leaders face today and those that they will face 10 years from now. In this session, the speakers will present the findings of this study that included more than 1,600 worldwide survey respondents plus 40 interviews with companies that have best-in-class leadership. (The full study is available in PDF format from the AMA Web site.) The presentation will focus on four key assumptions, drawn from the survey data, about leadership in the future: 1) Technology will play an ever-increasing role, and while it may help solve some of today’s business challenges, it also will aggravate others. 2) Global trends, including macroeconomic free-trade initiatives, shifting demographic realities, conflicts, and competition for scarce resources, will require different methods and content for leadership-development programs. 3) Organizational structures will experience a growing interconnectedness driven by an expanded flow of information, technology, capital, goods, services, and human resources throughout the world. 4) The global talent pool will be deeply affected by the aging population, immigration trends, generational differences, evolving gender roles, improving education levels, and changing societal values in many developed nations. The session also will include a discussion of the implications for the ways in which new leaders must be trained to meet the challenges of the future. To develop future leaders, we must find new ways of overcoming three longstanding problems: 1) Leaders know what to do, but they don’t do it. 2) There is a lack of measurement and recognition. 3) We develop leaders for the past instead of the future. 개요 Assess your own company's leadership-development practices in light of the findings of the AMA/HRI Global Leadership Study. 학습목표 SU414 세션 No. 3 Level 5/7/2006  3:30 PM-4:45 PM 일시 Daniel Tobin 강사 Leadership Agility: Master Competency for Anticipating and Initiating Change 제목 What is leadership agility? It’s the master competency needed to undertake successful initiatives in complex, rapidly changing environments. Leaders with higher levels of this agility are more strategic, more effective in partnering with others, more creative in solving problems, and more adept at learning from their experiences. This research-based session outlines five distinct levels in the mastery of leadership agility. The framework will allow you to assess the extent that the managers you support have the level of agility needed for effective leadership in today’s turbulent business environment. You’ll be able to use the same framework to assess your own leadership agility. 개요 Assess the level of leadership agility of key organization leaders. Evaluate your leadership training and coaching programs and incorporate the eight aspects of leadership agility. 학습목표 SU413 세션 No. 3 Level 5/7/2006  3:30 PM-4:45 PM 일시 William Joiner , Stephen Josephs 강사
    • LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT Leading at a Higher Level 제목 As Ken Blanchard and his associates reviewed the last 25 years of teaching and training, they concluded that the main theme has been Leading at a Higher Level. The focus in leading at a higher level is on long term results and human satisfaction. Leading at a higher level, therefore, is a process of achieving worthwhile results while acting with respect, care and fairness for all involved. In this session participants will learn that the four keys to leading at a higher level are: 1) Set your sights on the right target and vision. 2) Treat your customers right. 3) Treat your people right. 4) Have the right kind of leadership. 개요 N/A 학습목표 M201 세션 No. 2 Level 5/8/2006  2:15 PM-3:30 PM 일시 Ken Blanchard 강사 Leadership in Tomorrow’s Global Organization: 10 Questions Keeping You Up at Night 제목 Never before has the growth of our enterprise depended more on the quality of leadership, from the frontline to the boardroom. And never before has the role of leadership been more challenging and complex. DDI conducted a study of more than 4,500 leaders and HR professionals in 42 countries to better understand the challenges facing global leaders in today’s business environment and to pinpoint the leadership best practices that drive improved organizational performance. The report, Leadership Forecast 2005-2006 Best Practices for Tomorrow’s Global Leaders, captures the results. During this session, the speakers will discuss the study and answers to 15 critical leadership questions that keep you up at night, including: 1) What do leaders consider the best way to learn and how does that compare to what we offer them? 2) What succession-management practices drive better financial performance? 3) What are the differences in challenges and best practices among global leaders? 개요 Apply the 10 best leadership-development practices to your organization. Benchmark your organization against those best practices to determine your strengths and areas for improvements. • LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT Business as an Ethical Endeavor 제목 In this session, the speaker will discuss the revolutionary shift from business as a practice that requires compliance, to business as an intrinsic ethical endeavor. In doing so, he will take you through an experiential shift from focusing on external circumstances, challenges, and conditional results to focusing on one’s ability to respond regardless of the external environment and challenge. Techniques will be provided that will allow you to quickly shift your focus to “response-ability,” thus driving a new awareness of your individual accountability and unconditional responsibility. Furthermore, he will demonstrate how this fundamental shift underlies three essential skill areas that drive an ethical approach to business. These are: effective communications, conflict resolution, and coordinated action. You will return to your job with a changed notion of your ability to be accountable and responsible. You also will be able to identify areas of ethical risk based on a simple evaluation of these essential skill areas. 개요 Enhance “response-ability” in your workplace and the ability to deal with uncertainty and change. Engage in powerful self-reflection that will underlie a new commitment to unconditional responsibility in your workplace. In this session, the speaker will demonstrate a new Scandinavian model for making management skills and leadership attitude come together. Too many leaders do not receive enough help in developing their leadership capabilities. Consequently, their job performance and their staff remained a puzzle to them. In this session, the speaker will draw on her experience as a former head of training and development for a Scandinavian-owned international corporation. She used to be frustrated by the lack of an assessment and training template for good leadership. She set out to fill this gap and identified the seven vital areas that a leader needs to focus and four contemporary styles that must be mastered and used on a daily basis. 개요 Evaluate how your organization supports its leaders in understanding the exact nature of their responsibilities. Use the Direct Leadership methodology to conduct an assessment of your organization’s leadership competencies. Yet, many organizations still are tied to a model that relies on external coaches. While there are many benefits to this approach, a growing number of organizations are training teams of internal coaches. Coaching is beginning to be creatively integrated into existing learning and development processes, making it accessible to many more people, and creating a greater impact. In this session, the speaker will cover global trends, best practices, and case studies of managers and staff learning to coach others. He will address how internal coaching can feed the leadership pipeline, drive change and leadership development, provide better ROI than many other commonly used learning tools, and ameliorate many of the most pressing management and human resource issues. 개요 Advocate for coaching to maximize training and development initiatives, cultivate managers, and drive retention and leadership. • LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT Critical Thinking: Improving Decision-Making Performance 제목 There is a growing consensus that critical thinking is at the heart of organizational leadership. Whether your goal is to solve business challenges, identify and exploit competitive advantages, or design organizational strategy and vision, the power to think critically and communicate effectively is essential to success. To harness this power, organizations must promote critical thinking skills, methods, and techniques essential to effective decision-making; isolate and overcome thinking styles that inhibit optimal performance; and create an environment that encourages critical thinking. In this session, you will increase your understanding of how critical thinking assessment and training can help your organization improve decision-making performance. 개요 Assess thinking styles to develop and promote effective decision making in your organization. In this session, the speakers will share how the CIA identified its leadership-development needs and used leadership development to address these complex challenges. The speakers will share the development processes, the results, and organizational learning techniques. The program provided training to 500 mid-level managers with three to seven years experience to enable them to: 1) look at the organization and their role systemically 2) conduct negotiations that lead to powerful partnerships that accomplish the mission 3) analyze where the system is not working effectively 4) build solutions that are successful and measurable 5) deal successfully with the conflicts that arise on an institutional and personal level. The program provides these highly visible managers with the tools to meet the challenges of the new century. 개요 Identify leadership needs and potential solutions in your organization. Use the processes and tools discussed in your leadership-development program. • LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT Beyond Rule Following: Challenging Status Quo in Leadership Integrity Training 제목 To say that ethical leadership is a relevant topic is an understatement. A bear market and myriad corporate scandals have brought squeamishness to investors and have intensified public demands for corporate accountability. To solve this problem, some organizations have incorporated integrity assessments to their selection processes. Others have implemented zero-tolerance ethics training, preaching strict adherence to organizational policies. Integrity assessments, however, have limitations: They may weed out flexible, risk-taking, and creative people. Leaders, moreover, are hired to challenge ineffective rules—not to follow them blindly. To resolve this dilemma, the presenters of this session have designed and piloted a research-based leadership-friendly integrity-development program that incorporates concepts such as moral imagination and empathy. You will discuss the interaction of personality, ethics, and leadership competencies; test-drive ethical imagination; explore practical workplace applications; and receive a complete training outline to test back home. 개요 Customize and implement a new research-based integrity-development program especially designed for leaders. 학습목표 W212 세션 No. 3 Level 5/10/2006  10:45 AM-12:00 PM 일시 David Fitzgerald , Cristina Wildermuth 강사 Critical Thinking: Improving Decision-Making Performance 제목 There is a growing consensus that critical thinking is at the heart of organizational leadership. • LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT Weaving Diversity and Inclusion Into Your Leadership Development Program 제목 Typically, the concepts of diversity leadership are delivered in separate training programs and are rarely integrated into general courseware designed to develop leaders and managers. Yet, successful business leaders know that diversity and inclusion are essential elements in leading world-class organizations. Whether it’s communicating a clear vision for the organization’s future, doing business globally, empowering future leaders, building cross-cultural teams, or responding to new markets, leaders must use a diversity lens to fully engage talented employees and create an environment of innovation and agility. The problem is that leaders don’t know how to do that and they often miss the connection between diversity and their role as a leader. In this session, you will learn to design and deliver content that weaves the concepts of diversity and inclusion into leadership and management-development programs. You will review case studies of best practices and receive tips on how to engage participants and help them clarify their role in leveraging diversity for business results. 개요 Integrate the concepts of diversity and inclusion into your leadership and management-development programs.
