Like many young men in Kenya who
have finished college, David was
facing an uncertain future with near
zero prospects for employment or
advancement.
Despite being a top student in college
and having been admitted to Medical
school in Nairobi University, David was
frustrated, disillusioned and
distraught as he could not afford
medical school.
David is from a very poor family. His
hope has been that education would
lead to a brighter future for himself,
his family and community.. and yet it
seemed all his years as a diligent
student were coming to a halt.
JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION
David’s first Semester in Medical School
Five participants from the medical
mission including Dr. Metrovelli, Dr. Mills,
Dr. Kaplan, Lisa Mack and Sharon Klan
have pledged to help David. He received
a stethoscope from Lisa and a white coat
from Dr. Kaplan.
David is now a fulltime medical student
at Nairobi University with his tuition,
books and housing fully paid for his first
semester.
JNN appreciates the donors who gave
graciously to make David’s dream come
true. Your compassion to make a
difference goes a long way to improve his
quality of life and potentially change his
future.
JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION
Dr. Kaplan spearheaded
the support for David’s
tuition for medical
school education.

Elizabeth Ampezia is 23yrs
I am the oldest girl in Motherly Care
Children's Home (MCCH). I lost both
parents at an early age. I was raised by
my grandmother who convinced me
that I was her last born daughter.
After my grandmother died I became
destitute and lived on the streets. I
survived the mean streets, eating and
sleeping under dust bins. After some
time, I learnt to work for money or
food by doing house chores.
It was challenging when some people
refused to pay me or instead they
abused me.
JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION
Social Workers rescued me from the
streets and brought me to MCCH. I
attended school and successfully
completed high school.
However, I was not able to attend
college and pursue my dream to
become a nurse. By God’s grace JNN
Foundation agreed to sponsor my
education at Kendu Bay Adventist
College, where I’m now pursuing a
Nursing degree.
I believe that because of my life
experiences, I can testify that God
answers prayers. I have so much hope
for a bright future now that I’m
preparing to graduate in 2015.

JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION
My name is Emmaculate Mueni.
I was born and raised in the streets of
Nairobi. As a child, my life was
extremely challenging. I lost both
parents when I was an infant. Living on
the streets came with a lot of abuse
especially from street boys.
When I was about ten years old, a
stranger said to me that I was not an
accident, and that God had a plan for
me. I decided to visit a church to find
out how God could help me.
It was my lucky day!! Mrs. Mary stopped
to talk to me and soon she invited me to
go home with her. I've been at MCCH
ever since. I’ve found much peace and
love at the home. I truly believe that
God has a plan for me.
JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION
I still struggle to forget the bitter past
but I’m learning to let go and focus on
becoming the person God is leading me to
be. My goal is to help others know that
God has a plan for them despite
their circumstances.
I believe education is the key to freedom.
I’m excited that JNN is finding a sponsor
for me to help further my education. I
hope to one day attend college and
pursue a degree in teaching or social
work.
I'm grateful for the JNN Foundation
taking the step of faith towards my
future. I thank God for rescuing me and
surrounding me with a loving family to
call my own.

Cecilia Wangoi - 17yrs
I’m a second child in a family of four.
Growing up I remember my mother
was always sick, usually spending
long periods away at the hospital.
After my mom died, my brother and
sisters were sent to live in different
homes.
I ran away from the family I was
staying with and ended up living on
the streets.
One day I became extremely ill and a
good Samaritan took me to Mother
Teresa Children’s home where I was
admitted for treatment.
JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION
Upon discharge from the facility, I
was transferred to the MCCH where
I’ve lived since.
I recently successfully completed high
school and I’m hoping to attend
medical school to pursue my dream
of becoming a surgeon.
I’ve always admired the medical
professionals who help the sick. I
hope to one day become a doctor so I
can also help the sick.
I know that anything is possible when
you believe. I thank the JNN
Foundation for believing in me and
supporting me.
JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION
My name is Ann Wanjango - 18years
I was very young when my mother
died . My father took me to stay with
my uncle, who died shortly after. My
father took me to an orphanage in
Nairobi where I stayed for some
time.
When my father remarried, he
brought me back home to stay with
him and my new step mother.
After some time, life became quite
miserable from the beatings I
received daily from both of them. I
finally ran away from home.
JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION
After living on the streets for some
time, my father found me. He severely
beat me until strangers intervened, and
as a result, he ended up in jail. My
stepmother wanted nothing to do with
me.
I was later rescued from the streets and
taken to Mama Ngina Children’s Home
and soon after transferred to MCCH.
Coming to MCCH was the greatest
blessing of my life. I recently completed
my high school with great scores. My
dream is to study communication in
college; I hope to one day travel the
world as a journalist.

IMMACULATE ATIENO 21YEARS
I’m the second born in a family of
five. My mother passed away when I
was 2 ars old. I was raised by my
father and my step mother.
In 2003, my dad passed away. Soon
after, my step mother passed away as
well. We were left under the care of
our grandmother, but the burden
became cumbersome for her, as she
was unable to provide for us even
basic needs.
Our lives changed for the worse. My
siblings and I were split up and sent
to live with different families.
JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION
By the grace of God, I was brought to
the MCCH after moving from home to
home. I’ve been so blessed to find a
home and kind people who care for
me.
In 2010, I successfully completed high
school but I was unable to proceed to
college due to financial reasons.
In 2012, the JNN Foundation was
visiting MCCH when they learned
about my situation.
I could not believe it when they
accepted to sponsor me to Kenyatta
University. I’m now pursuing my
second year in Early Childhood
Education. I’m so grateful to God.

PHELEN JUDY ANYANGO - 26YEARS
I was 13 years old when both my
parents died. I was then taken for a
wife in an arranged marriage. I soon
ran away, but by God’s grace I was
rescued and brought to the MCCH.
I’m the oldest at MCCH, and I’ve
naturally become a caretaker to the
younger ones. Before my mother
died, I took care of her for months
until she passed away. I enjoy
supporting others in need.
I admire nursing. My dream is to
become a nurse someday, so I serve
those in need.
JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION
For eight years, I’ve been unable to
afford college, or get a sponsor. My
dream has yet to become a reality.
In 2007, I successfully completed
high school and scored excellent
grades. I received college admission
but I have been unable to begin y
studies due to lack of funds.
I have since devoted myself to look
after the younger children here at
MCCH until God opens a way for me
to pursue my dream.
I pray for JNN to be successful in
getting me a sponsor this year.
 My name is Isaiah Nyaata. I was born in Kisii, Kenya on
25th December 1972. I was born in a polygamous family, my
mother was the 1st wife and she had ten children. After my
father died, it was a great challenge for my mother to educate
and provide for us.
 My mum worked odd jobs to keep food on the table. While
working at a tea estate, she became very sick and finally
became unable to work. Consequently I dropped out of school
for lack of tuition. However, by the grace of God, the principle
of my school learnt of my predicament and decided to pay
tuition for my final two years of high school.
 After successfully completing high school, my future hopes of
attending college were once again crushed after getting
admitted to two of my favorite colleges, but quickly realizing I
could not afford the tuition.
 After sometime, I became very sick, and narrowly escaping
death. After a long recovery, I was convinced that God had
plans for my future. I was inspired to get a job at the tea
factory where my mother had worked. I determined to work
and raise enough money to attend college. After two years of
working, my health problems persisted and I was unable to
work.
 I decided to get married and I was hoping my new found love
would change my life for the better. However, married life
increased my financial burden, when my wife Grace and I we
blessed with 2 boys Samuel and Victor.
 In 2005, a former teacher who knew my challenges &
aspirations was moved with compassion to sponsor me to
attend the Bugema University teachers training program. I was
thrilled for the opportunity, but unfortunately after a year, my
sponsor died suddenly from a heart attack, and I was forced to
drop out of college.
 My wife and I decided to try out business in farming. We
leased land and planted vegetables and tomatoes. The
harvest was great and the demand for the crops was
profitable. After sometime we experienced a setback when
a group of thieves robed us of the harvested crops and
goods from our farm leaving our business crumpling.
 This was a tragedy we were not prepared to deal with, and
it consequently collapsed our business. At the church camp
meeting in 2007, I met Elder Mogaka who after
conversation offered me to volunteer to tech classes at
MCCH.
 I accepted the offer as I had some teaching skills from the
one year at Bugema University, Uganda. I have, since then
worked at Motherly Care Children’s Home as a volunteer
teacher.
 In 2013, the JNN Foundation visited MCCH. I was moved to
share my ambition to complete a teachers training degree.
Through God’s Amazing Grace, on September 2013 the JNN
Foundation accepted to sponsor me for my further
education to Kamwenja Teachers Training College. My joy is
beyond words can express, and I’m so grateful.
 I truly appreciate the JNN Foundation for the efforts its
making to the help the less fortunate gain education. I’m a
great example of how potential lives can be are wasted
without support. The knowledge and experience I gain as I
learn now will be imparted to the younger people for a
better society.
 It is my prayer that God will continue to empower the JNN
Foundation to support many others so that his name will be
praised and glorified.
 Please consider sending a donation to the JNN Foundation
and help sustain this efforts so that others like myself may
see the light at the end of the tunnel.
GOD BLESS THE JNN FOUNDATION!

Jnn supports education

  • 2. Like many young men in Kenya who have finished college, David was facing an uncertain future with near zero prospects for employment or advancement. Despite being a top student in college and having been admitted to Medical school in Nairobi University, David was frustrated, disillusioned and distraught as he could not afford medical school. David is from a very poor family. His hope has been that education would lead to a brighter future for himself, his family and community.. and yet it seemed all his years as a diligent student were coming to a halt. JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION
  • 3. David’s first Semester in Medical School
  • 4. Five participants from the medical mission including Dr. Metrovelli, Dr. Mills, Dr. Kaplan, Lisa Mack and Sharon Klan have pledged to help David. He received a stethoscope from Lisa and a white coat from Dr. Kaplan. David is now a fulltime medical student at Nairobi University with his tuition, books and housing fully paid for his first semester. JNN appreciates the donors who gave graciously to make David’s dream come true. Your compassion to make a difference goes a long way to improve his quality of life and potentially change his future. JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION Dr. Kaplan spearheaded the support for David’s tuition for medical school education.

  • 7. Elizabeth Ampezia is 23yrs I am the oldest girl in Motherly Care Children's Home (MCCH). I lost both parents at an early age. I was raised by my grandmother who convinced me that I was her last born daughter. After my grandmother died I became destitute and lived on the streets. I survived the mean streets, eating and sleeping under dust bins. After some time, I learnt to work for money or food by doing house chores. It was challenging when some people refused to pay me or instead they abused me. JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION
  • 8. Social Workers rescued me from the streets and brought me to MCCH. I attended school and successfully completed high school. However, I was not able to attend college and pursue my dream to become a nurse. By God’s grace JNN Foundation agreed to sponsor my education at Kendu Bay Adventist College, where I’m now pursuing a Nursing degree. I believe that because of my life experiences, I can testify that God answers prayers. I have so much hope for a bright future now that I’m preparing to graduate in 2015. JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION
  • 9. JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION My name is Emmaculate Mueni. I was born and raised in the streets of Nairobi. As a child, my life was extremely challenging. I lost both parents when I was an infant. Living on the streets came with a lot of abuse especially from street boys. When I was about ten years old, a stranger said to me that I was not an accident, and that God had a plan for me. I decided to visit a church to find out how God could help me. It was my lucky day!! Mrs. Mary stopped to talk to me and soon she invited me to go home with her. I've been at MCCH ever since. I’ve found much peace and love at the home. I truly believe that God has a plan for me.
  • 10. JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION I still struggle to forget the bitter past but I’m learning to let go and focus on becoming the person God is leading me to be. My goal is to help others know that God has a plan for them despite their circumstances. I believe education is the key to freedom. I’m excited that JNN is finding a sponsor for me to help further my education. I hope to one day attend college and pursue a degree in teaching or social work. I'm grateful for the JNN Foundation taking the step of faith towards my future. I thank God for rescuing me and surrounding me with a loving family to call my own.
  • 11. JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION Cecilia Wangoi - 17yrs I’m a second child in a family of four. Growing up I remember my mother was always sick, usually spending long periods away at the hospital. After my mom died, my brother and sisters were sent to live in different homes. I ran away from the family I was staying with and ended up living on the streets. One day I became extremely ill and a good Samaritan took me to Mother Teresa Children’s home where I was admitted for treatment.
  • 12. JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION Upon discharge from the facility, I was transferred to the MCCH where I’ve lived since. I recently successfully completed high school and I’m hoping to attend medical school to pursue my dream of becoming a surgeon. I’ve always admired the medical professionals who help the sick. I hope to one day become a doctor so I can also help the sick. I know that anything is possible when you believe. I thank the JNN Foundation for believing in me and supporting me.
  • 13. JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION My name is Ann Wanjango - 18years I was very young when my mother died . My father took me to stay with my uncle, who died shortly after. My father took me to an orphanage in Nairobi where I stayed for some time. When my father remarried, he brought me back home to stay with him and my new step mother. After some time, life became quite miserable from the beatings I received daily from both of them. I finally ran away from home.
  • 14. JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION After living on the streets for some time, my father found me. He severely beat me until strangers intervened, and as a result, he ended up in jail. My stepmother wanted nothing to do with me. I was later rescued from the streets and taken to Mama Ngina Children’s Home and soon after transferred to MCCH. Coming to MCCH was the greatest blessing of my life. I recently completed my high school with great scores. My dream is to study communication in college; I hope to one day travel the world as a journalist.
  • 15. JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION IMMACULATE ATIENO 21YEARS I’m the second born in a family of five. My mother passed away when I was 2 ars old. I was raised by my father and my step mother. In 2003, my dad passed away. Soon after, my step mother passed away as well. We were left under the care of our grandmother, but the burden became cumbersome for her, as she was unable to provide for us even basic needs. Our lives changed for the worse. My siblings and I were split up and sent to live with different families.
  • 16. JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION By the grace of God, I was brought to the MCCH after moving from home to home. I’ve been so blessed to find a home and kind people who care for me. In 2010, I successfully completed high school but I was unable to proceed to college due to financial reasons. In 2012, the JNN Foundation was visiting MCCH when they learned about my situation. I could not believe it when they accepted to sponsor me to Kenyatta University. I’m now pursuing my second year in Early Childhood Education. I’m so grateful to God.
  • 17. JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION PHELEN JUDY ANYANGO - 26YEARS I was 13 years old when both my parents died. I was then taken for a wife in an arranged marriage. I soon ran away, but by God’s grace I was rescued and brought to the MCCH. I’m the oldest at MCCH, and I’ve naturally become a caretaker to the younger ones. Before my mother died, I took care of her for months until she passed away. I enjoy supporting others in need. I admire nursing. My dream is to become a nurse someday, so I serve those in need.
  • 18. JNN SUPPORTS EDUCATION For eight years, I’ve been unable to afford college, or get a sponsor. My dream has yet to become a reality. In 2007, I successfully completed high school and scored excellent grades. I received college admission but I have been unable to begin y studies due to lack of funds. I have since devoted myself to look after the younger children here at MCCH until God opens a way for me to pursue my dream. I pray for JNN to be successful in getting me a sponsor this year.
  • 19.  My name is Isaiah Nyaata. I was born in Kisii, Kenya on 25th December 1972. I was born in a polygamous family, my mother was the 1st wife and she had ten children. After my father died, it was a great challenge for my mother to educate and provide for us.  My mum worked odd jobs to keep food on the table. While working at a tea estate, she became very sick and finally became unable to work. Consequently I dropped out of school for lack of tuition. However, by the grace of God, the principle of my school learnt of my predicament and decided to pay tuition for my final two years of high school.  After successfully completing high school, my future hopes of attending college were once again crushed after getting admitted to two of my favorite colleges, but quickly realizing I could not afford the tuition.  After sometime, I became very sick, and narrowly escaping death. After a long recovery, I was convinced that God had plans for my future. I was inspired to get a job at the tea factory where my mother had worked. I determined to work and raise enough money to attend college. After two years of working, my health problems persisted and I was unable to work.  I decided to get married and I was hoping my new found love would change my life for the better. However, married life increased my financial burden, when my wife Grace and I we blessed with 2 boys Samuel and Victor.  In 2005, a former teacher who knew my challenges & aspirations was moved with compassion to sponsor me to attend the Bugema University teachers training program. I was thrilled for the opportunity, but unfortunately after a year, my sponsor died suddenly from a heart attack, and I was forced to drop out of college.
  • 20.  My wife and I decided to try out business in farming. We leased land and planted vegetables and tomatoes. The harvest was great and the demand for the crops was profitable. After sometime we experienced a setback when a group of thieves robed us of the harvested crops and goods from our farm leaving our business crumpling.  This was a tragedy we were not prepared to deal with, and it consequently collapsed our business. At the church camp meeting in 2007, I met Elder Mogaka who after conversation offered me to volunteer to tech classes at MCCH.  I accepted the offer as I had some teaching skills from the one year at Bugema University, Uganda. I have, since then worked at Motherly Care Children’s Home as a volunteer teacher.  In 2013, the JNN Foundation visited MCCH. I was moved to share my ambition to complete a teachers training degree. Through God’s Amazing Grace, on September 2013 the JNN Foundation accepted to sponsor me for my further education to Kamwenja Teachers Training College. My joy is beyond words can express, and I’m so grateful.  I truly appreciate the JNN Foundation for the efforts its making to the help the less fortunate gain education. I’m a great example of how potential lives can be are wasted without support. The knowledge and experience I gain as I learn now will be imparted to the younger people for a better society.  It is my prayer that God will continue to empower the JNN Foundation to support many others so that his name will be praised and glorified.  Please consider sending a donation to the JNN Foundation and help sustain this efforts so that others like myself may see the light at the end of the tunnel. GOD BLESS THE JNN FOUNDATION!
