Calculation Process 1. Delete all non-alphanumeric characters - space, dashes etc. 2. Add Creditor Reference identification code “RF” followed by the digits “00” to the right-hand. 3. Convert all alpha characters to numeric - “RF” to numeric characters “2715” (see slide 6) - Other characters too – recommendation is use only numbers 3. Calculate the modulo 97 (the remainder after division by 97) 4. Subtract the remainder from 98 and, if the result is less than ten, insert a leading zero. - Now You have Check Digits 5.Insert the code “RF” and check digit at the left-hand end of the creditor reference And There Is It!
