  • 1. CHRISTIANS SEEK RECONCILIATION.
  • 2. MATTHEW 18:15-17
  • 3. CHRISTIANS SEEK RECONCILIATION.
  • 4. THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN WRONGED
  • 5. You need to determine if you’ve really been wronged. Does the wrong rise to the level sin? If not, it would be better to accept wrong.  “Why do you not rather accept wrong? Why do you not rather let yourselves be cheated?” (1 Cor 6:7).  As long as it doesn’t put someone’s soul in jeopardy, maybe we should just let it go.
  • 6. You need never gossip. Jesus speaks of your going to the person who offended you, not others. Throughout Scripture, gossip is condemned.  “A talebearer reveals secrets, But he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter” (Prov 11:13).  “He who covers a transgression seeks love, But he who repeats a matter separates friends” (Prov 17:9).
  • 7. You need to love the wrongdoer. Jesus: : “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent” (Rev 3:19). The whole purpose of this discipline is to demonstrate love. You whole attitude must be bathed in love.
  • 8. THOSE WHO HAVE WRONGED
  • 9. You need to repent. “Unless you repent you will all likewise perish” (Lk 13:3). Paul “declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance” (Acts 26:20).
  • 10. You nee to apologize. Matt 5:23-24. “Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed” (Js 5:16).
  • 11. You need to be grateful. “Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you” (Prov 9:8). Think of all the reasons you have to be thankful!
