  • 2. • “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it” (Jn 8:44).
  • 3. GENESIS 3:1-7
  • 4. •Sin brings death. • “The soul who sins shall die” (Ezek 18:20). • “The wages of sin is death” (Rom 6:23). • “When desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death” (Js 1:15).

  • 6. • You must remember that sin deceives. • “Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called ‘Today,’ lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin” (Heb 3:1213). • Moses chose “to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin” (Heb 11:25).
  • 7. •Examine your past sinfulness. •Gal 5:19-21. •Make two columns as you list your sins. • Put the sin in one column. • Put the lie you believed in the other.
  • 8. • Know the truth about sin. • Jesus died for your sins. • “This is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins” (Matt 26:28). • He “Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree” (1 Pet 2:24). • Sin kills. • “The soul who sins shall die” (Ezek 18:20). • “The wages of sin is death” (Rom 6:23). • “When desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is fullgrown, brings forth death” (Js 1:15).
