The Transatlantic Archaeological Gateway continues work the Archaeology Data Service have undertaken in bringing together disparate archaeological datasets and (the related infrastructure)
Much of this follows on from projects such as Heirnet and, above all, the Arena project, which allows end users to search overall archaeological datasets from different European countries.

TAG will involve the ADS will be working with Arizona State University to make datasets between the US and UK cross-searchable CIMEC ADS NMR DANS Etc… Arizona State University Digital Antiquity: The Digital Archaeological Record (tDAR)
