  • 3. Turn to Chapter 6, page 158: Divide into groups. Team Captains: Go through essays with your team: Find the following- Article summary, Thesis, and 3 Rhetorical tools
  • 4. “Rise of the Image Culture” , p. 160“The Mighty Image”, p.164 And“An Imperfect Reality”, p. 168Take 20 minutes to discuss
  • 5. Using the terms found on p. 174, go through one of the books on the table: find a picture with one partner outof your group and each work on an analysis of the picture using these terms. Content; Framing; Composition; Focus; Lighting; Texture; Angle and Vantage Point; Significance: Also, think about text, subtext, and Context (Specific and Cultural) What “truth” does the picture tell? What is the significance?
  • 6. Journal 4: Due Week 7Pick an essay from Chapters 5,6,7 or 8: Do the “Ideas For Writing” questions: Next, pick another essay from Chapter 16. Answer the “Writing Strategies” questions following the essay you choose. Last: Write an informal essay/response to the ideas/essay or your topic. 675 Words.
