Death Valley Cycle 2nd – 9th MARCH 2013 Conquer 420km of Death Valley by  Event Type: Road cycling bicycle!  Location: USA This one is for the real cycling nuts,  Distance: 420km located in the South California  Fees: £399 registration + self- Desert in Nevada the 3.4 million funding £1399 acre National Park is the largest National Park in the US and provides some of the most striking views known to man. The Valley itself is 130 miles long, 6 to 13 miles wide with steep cliff vistas on either side. You’ll be cycling 420 km through Death Valley towards Las Vegas. This may be the ultimate charity bike ride for you.

Ups & Downs Looking for something a little more rugged and exciting than road cyling? 27th APRIL 2013 Quite like getting covered in mud and  Event Type: Road cycling being out in the countryside? Then the  Location: Dorking, Surrey Ups and Downs cycling event is  Distance: 32 Miles probably right up your street. Providing  Registration Opens:7.30am some of the best mountain biking the country has to offer the ups and down  Start Time:8.00am - 9:30am cycling competition is held in North  Can Join On The Day If Space Downs, some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK. With two lengths of ride to choose from, epic 32 miles and standard 25 miles, you’ll be taking on a serious challenge here. With steep hill climbs and fast narrow slopes be sure to bring you’re a-game or you could find yourself buried in a hedge.

LANDS END TO JOHNOGROATS CYCLE CHALLENGE Starting at Lands End on the 30th APRIL 2013 southwesterly tip of England, pedal  Event Type: Road cycling your way through Cornwall, over Dartmoor and north along the Welsh  Place: Lands End, Cornwall, UK border, skirting the Lake District into  Duration/distance: 13 days Scotland, via lochs and mountains to  Fees & sponsorship: £299 the North coast and John O’Groats. registration fee In all we will cover almost 1000  Pledge: £3125 minimum miles in 12 days, passing through sponsorship some of the most stunning and remote countryside in the British Isles. This is a tough challenge but a fabulous way to see the country, and one of the most rewarding things you will ever do!

PONTYPRIDD TO BRIVE CYCLECHALLENGE Mencap Cymru is 20th – 27th APRIL 2013 reconnecting the two towns  Event Type: Road cycling by organising a gruelling  Days: 7 charity cycle ride from  Place: Pontypridd, Mid Glamorgan, UK Pontypridd to Brive.  Date: 20 April 2013 The challenge open to all  Duration/distance: 505 miles levels of fitness and to those  Fees & sponsorship: £0 registration fee + £0 wanting to get fit! It all kicks minimum sponsorship off on Saturday 20 April 2013  Charity: mencap at 9am from Pontypridd Rugby Club, Sardis Road.

COAST TO COAST LAKES ANDDALE CYCLE 13th JUNE 2013 Our challenge is to cycle the breadth  Event Type: Mountain biking of the UK across some of the most  Location: West coast to Whitby, spectacular and wild countryside Cumbria, UK that England has to offer.  Duration/distance: 4 days  Fees & sponsorship: £149 registration Guide itinerary: fee + £1100 minimum sponsorship DAY 1: Beautiful but hilly day’s cycle from coast via Derwentwater and Windermere to Kendal DAY 2: Cross into Yorkshire Dales; steep climbs as cross National Park to Richmond DAY 3: Tackle steep gradients of North York moors; great descents into Whitby DAY 4: Depart for home

LONDON TO CAMBRIDGEBIKE RIDE 2013 th 16 JUNE 2013 Starting from north-east London, the  Event Type: Cycling London to Cambridge bike ride will  Charity: Breakthrough Breast have you cycling 60 miles along quiet Cancer country lanes, past rolling green fields,  Joining Fee £20 and idyllic small towns as you pedal to  Pledge: £300+ the big finish in Cambridge.  60 miles (approx) A fantastic challenge for beginners, commuters and pros alike.

London to Brighton Bike Ride 16th JUNE 2013 You will start the challenge in South London, travel through Mitcham,  Event Type: Cycling Carshalton, Chipstead, Banstead,  Closing Date to sign up: 2nd March Haywards Heath and finally to Brighton  £100 Pledge to sign up for your having completed 54 miles! charity No previous experience is required however preparation for this event is highly recommended, and with a bit of training completing this event should easily be within your capabilities. The spirit of the event is taking part not winning so you go as fast or as slow as you like!

CENTURYCHALLENGE RIDE Sunday 30th JUNE 2013 100 mile bike challenge from Oxford to Stow-on-the-Wold, William  Event type: Cycling Shakespeares birthplace, Banbury  Distance: 100 miles Cross and back to Oxford.  Entry £25.00 This single day 100 mile bike  From Topsham Rugby Club to challenge could be used in Tiverton and out into the Devon preparation for your next multi-day countryside bike adventure. Only 1500 cyclist this year allowed, get in there fast! The Century Cycle Challenge is not a sportive; it is a charity bike ride, raising vital funds for a local cancer charity. The ride is NOT chip timed; it is NOT a race.

Etape du Tour 2013 - France Compete with 7,000 other riders in 7th JULY 2013 the 100th edition of the Tour version cyclo!  Event Type: Cycling Make no mistake about it – the  Location: France Etape du Tour is tough. To take part  Fundraising target: £1000 youll need to train hard. But the  Registration fee: £175 sense of achievement youll feel as you cross the finish line will be unforgettable.

Pyrenees Coast to CoastCycle Challenge 14th -22nd SEPTEMBER 2013 This prestigious and demanding challenge is the pinnacle of cycling.  Event type: Cycling Over nine days you’ll ride the length  Location: Pyrenees, France of the Pyrenees and climb (Atlantic - Mediterranean) mountains made famous by the Tour  Minimum sponsorship:£3,250 de France. You’ll also be left speechless by the stunning views and exhilarated by what you’ve achieved. Etape Cymru The UK’s Toughest Closed Road 8th SEPTEMBER 2013 Sportive.  Event type: Cycling The Etape Cymru is the UK’s  Distance: 92 miles toughest closed road sportive  Entry price: £59 featuring a stunning, tough route and over 2,500 metres of climbing. Situated in the picturesque surroundings of North Wales the route starts and finishes in Wrexham and passes through the Clwydian Range, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
