Wayanad, the green paradise is nestled among the mountains of the Western Ghats, forming the border world of the greener part of Kerala. This is a hill station in the Western Ghats, above 4500 feet from sea level, known among the best hill stations of Kerala. It is one of the major centre for Kerala's tea industry. The name Munnar means three rivers and this misty town is located at the confluence of 3 mountain streams - Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. Munnar is also known for its lakes, forests and tea estates, among which Tata Tea hold major portion of it. Anaimudi, the highest peak in South India (2695 m/8883 ft.) is located near to this destination. Munnar was once the British Government's Summer Camp and it has been the favorite summer destination for the European sellers for centuries.
