“Urban Water Management, Technologies and Implementation” professional tour to Israel in June
2013
The State of Israel and the Republic of India enjoy an extensive economic, military and strategic
relationship. The two nations collaborate over diplomatic issues, military and strategic topics, share trade
agreements, collaborate in science and technology development, manifest cultural ties, and share
tourism. Recently an MOU between the Indian Ministry of Urban Development and the Israeli Ministry of
Economy (MOE) was signed, providing an ever growing platform for knowledge sharing and cooperation.
As part of this agreement, in December 2012, a visit of Israeli Water Experts Committee (IWEC) was
conducted to the city of Raipur.
The ‘Urban Water Management, Technologies and Implementation’ professional tour to Israel is being
organized by the Ministry of Economy-Investment Promotion Center, Hagihon-Jerusalem Regional Water
& Wastewater Company, The Israel Patent Office, Israel Water Authority and The Weitz Center for
Development Studies in June 2013.
This is an executive program exclusively for experts and policy makers, from Indian urban water utilities.
This program aims to provide participants with:
• A unique exposure to cutting edge water management and treatment technologies
• Opportunities to establish new business connections and professional networks
• An in-depth exposure to the management and operation of a leading Israeli urban water utility.
Objectives
The professional tour will provide participants with:
- A clear understanding of various water management policies and mechanisms used in the urban setting.
- Exposure to cutting edge water & waste-water technologies including among others: water treatment,
waste water treatment, water desalination facilities, storm water drainage, etc.
- Visit to water facilities and sewage treatment installations.
- Opportunities to establish business connections and partnerships with leading Israeli water companies.
- Insights for innovation, entrepreneurship and business development.
We invite officials and experts from water management to visit Israel in June 2013 for the
professional tour: The ‘Urban Water Management, Technologies and Implementation’.
