  • 1. Photo Shoot Images Analysis Isabel Worrell
  • 2. I like this image becauseLucy is fairly centred. I likethe pose as it think it fitsto the pop genre. I alsolike the lighting I haveused in the image.I think above her head Ihave left too much spaceso Lucy looks a little outof position in the image. The mid shotI find is the right type ofimage for a front cover ofa music magazine andstick to conventions.
  • 3. • This image is more centred than the other images. It doesn’t fit to the pop genre however. Also Lucy looks a little shocked in this image.• It is a mid shot which is right for the conventions found on a front cover. Again I like the lighting used in this image however it’s not quite right for a front cover
  • 4. This image is justawkward. Lucydoesn’t lookhappy or bubblywhich is thetheme I was goingfor. It is a mid shotand I like theangle that Lucy isfacing howeverthe image isn’tquite centred. It’sthe same lightingI used in theother few imageswhich like.
  • 5. This image is overexposed because Iused the flash on thecamera for thisimage.I don’t like the angleLucy is facing on thisimage either. The image doesn’treally scream popgenre either. One good thingabout the image isthat I didn’t leave alot of space at thetop.
  • 6. In this image Lucy is sort ofshocked.I like the lighting in thisimage and Lucy’s skin looksreally clear.Lucy is too much to the rightof the image . Again theimage doesnt really screampop genre and it’s just a badimage which I wouldn’t putin my magazine at all.It is however a mid shotwhich fits into theconventions found in amusic magazine front cover.
  • 7. This image isn’t very goodbecause Lucy is notcentred and also herelbow goes out of theimage. I feel also in thisimage there is too muchof a shadow across theright of her face.It also doesn’t’ fit to thepop genre very much.
  • 8. This image doesn’twork because Lucyis too much to theright of the image. The pose she isdoing with herhands creates ashadow on her facewhich is too dark. The image doesn’tscream pop genremusic magazineeither.
  • 9. This image fits to thepop genre more. I likethe lighting on the righthand side of the imagebut it create a shadowtoo dark on Lucy’s face. It’s still not suitable fora Front cover as thehands could get in theway of text on the frontcover. I wouldn’t usethis image becausethere’s not much of astory behind it and wewere pretty much justmessing about in theimage.
  • 10. I really like this imageas I think it screamspop genre quite a lot.I like the pose thatLucy is making. The image does swayto the right a bit but Ilike the lighting in thisimage .If trimmed at the left alittle to make it appearmore centred thenthis type of imagecould be used as afront cover.
  • 11. This image is really goodfor a front cover. I feel thatit is positioned perfectly.I feel that in terms of popgenre it’s not the bestimage but with someediting and colour schemeson top this image couldreally work. I could includemusical symbols to make ithave more of a musictheme. It’s the type of image you’dexpect to find on the frontcover of a magazine.I also really like the lightingused in this image as thebackground is very palewhich is something Iwanted.
  • 12. This has to be one ofthe worst images I havetaken. The only light on in thisimage was the rightlight and this makes theimage look really dark. Also it’s out of positionas you can see wherethe white screen stops. There’s nothing specialabout this image at alland it’s really quite bad.
  • 13. I wouldn’t use thisimage as a front coverbecause you don’t seefront covers with thistype of pose. Againthis isn’t reallyscreaming pop genreand I dont really like itthat much. It ishowever the right sizeshot for a front coverand there room oneach side to add text.
  • 14. I prefer the pose inthis image and Iactually really likethis. I would havedefinitely consideredusing this as myfront cover imagebut the lighting istoo dark.I will try out editingit to see if I can makeit lighter as I thinkthis would be a goodimage to use.
  • 15. I like how well in positionLucy is in the picture as she’sright in the centre. The image doesn’t really saymuch about the pop genrehowever.I also like the lighting in thisimage and I believe all 3 lightswhere turned on.
  • 16. This image is okay butit’s too dark on the righthand side. Afterfeedback from myteacher I decided to putglasses on my model totry fit to the pop genremore. The image is theright size for a frontcover and it is a mid shotwhich is sticks to theconventions expected tobe found n a front cover.
  • 17. This image is a goodimage to use for myfront cover because thepose is suitable for afront cover.I like the lighting and Ithink that the shot isthe right size for a frontcover. There is more a senseof pop genre in thisimage too because ofthe glasses and band t-shirt.
  • 18. This image is an alrightimage.I dont think it’s thatspecial but I prefer thelength of this shot as itis a mid shot. The lighting is good Ithis image but theshadow is a little bit toodark in the right side.I think that the popgenre in this image isquite small. And notmush relation to music.
  • 19. This image is good as it isthe right size. The problemis the shadow in the face.I’ll look into if there isanything that I can do tostop the shadow appearingon Photo shop. I had anidea of adding a scarf intoLucy’s hair because Ithough it would suit thepop genre better.
  • 20. The image is bad as Lucy iscut off at the feet of theimage. Although the guitarhelps suit the music theme,it’s not a pop music guitarand this image looks morelike a indie style imagethan pop. Also again in thisimage you can see wherethe white backgroundends.
  • 21. I couldn’t use thisimage for a front coverbut I do think it hassome potential to be adouble spread image. Ilike the lighting in theimage. The right andleft light where turnedon. I will try it as a frontcover image as I think itcould work as there islots of space for text.
  • 22. The lighting in thisimage is good andclear. It fits will withthe mise-en-scene andI also think that thisimage has potential tobe the front coverImage I choose to use. There would beenough space to puttext on and Lucy themodel is well aligned inthe image.
  • 23. Reflection on ImagesThe main Issue with the images in this is thatthey don’t scream Pop Genre enough. Non ofthe images are good enough to use as a doublepage spread image which means I am definitelygoing to have to re shoot. In terms of front coversome could be valuable but need work onPhotoshop. The images could be changed lateron in my re shoot. The images need to reflectmusic more.
  • 24. These images are potential front cover images…
