    California Genealogical Society and Library.
  •  We are a non-profit organization.
  • We were founded February 12, 1898 in San Francisco.
  • Our mission is to assist, educate, and encourage research in family history.
  • We have over 900 members.Members live in 37 of the 50 states.
  • Our research interests extend all over the world.
  • Whether a beginning or advanced genealogist, we have something for you.
  • Explore our extensive family history research library.
  • Browse directories for cities throughout the United States.
  • At our library, enjoy free access to ancestry.com, footnote.com, and other superb websites.
  • We provide research services.
  • We write books, a bi-annual journal, a monthly newsletter, and genealogy blogs.
  • We create indexes for hard-to-find records, and we publish the results.
  • A number of special projects are constantly in motion.
  • From peasants or royalty, we continue the quest.
  • We are constantly seeking to learn more.
  • Special interest groups can meet at the library. This group shares an interest in French Canadians.
  • Join our week-long research marathon in Salt Lake City.
