How did you use media technologies in the construction and research planning and evaluation stages?
Throughout the planning and construction process we used variety of media technologies such as:

Google= find out information on the genre, and how the film could communicate with the audience.
YouTube= compare our film with others. Gain more knowledge about the similar films
Microsoft word= make the questionnaire and to write the script
.

iMac= edit the film
Mobile phones= to record the audiences feed back and also to transfers files.

Logic pro 8 (music production sound)
Power Mac
Make dab mixing desk- this was used to compose music and to clear up the sound.
Varies sound bank from college library
all royalty free themed composed by member of the group.
What have you learnt from your audiences feedback?
This survey was conducted to show which type of conventions would be most suited for out audience.
This was taken to help us find out what type of conventions our audience like, and also helped us with communication. Through this survey we find out what our audiences were interested in how to connect with them well. This helped with the decision we had to make in regards with the film. For example, at the planning stages we weren't too which type of film we should make, with the help of this survey we knew what our audience wanted to see and what interest them the most.
Audience Feed back
From this review I found out that the concept of rubix cube associating with the a persons feeling worked very well and connected with the audience.
However, if I had enough time I would go back to the story board and make the story line a bit more in depth with the main character. plus, if I had more time in regards with the film I would make the film more in depth. Make it a bit more physiological and make the scenes a bit more longer.
How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary text?
Our main product and ancillary text complimented each other very well, as the final draft were reviewed by a niche group of our targeted audience.
The film, the poster and the radio trailer all have eye catching opening. For example, the film starts with a intense music to attract audiences attention.
The trailer starts with intense music in order to attract audiences attention. We tried to make the trailer as dramatic and striking as possible.
Also, we tried to make the poster as vivid as possible in order to catch the audiences attention. We used all the colour of the rubix cube in our poster, as a group we wanted to include the rubix cube so we decided to make that black and white in order for it to stand out.
As a group we decided to add pictures from the film to give the audience a little hint of the film and what its like.
The title was purposely written in bold so it would stand out.
The colours represents the rubix cube, as it was the main the prop of the film.
“Drama, conflict and regret” were added to let the audience what the film is about.
The rating is correct for the content and the logo is to represent our company and to indicate that its our film
Main radio trailer script:
Whoosh sound
Voice over: life is full of different dimensions
Theme music
Helen: sometimes it feels like my mind is like a rubix cube, I just cant seem to figure it out.
Explosion noise before the rewind scene
Dramatic music (used at the start of the film)
Clips from the film:
Helen: how could you lie to me?
Mother: this isn’t about Helen
Helen: get out of my face u evil cow.
Voice over: your mind can play games with you.
Helen: how can that be when it feels so real..?
Voice over: DIMENSIONS out may 12th.
We had change the concept of “Dimension” as the old one was too complicated for the audience to comprehend and to a certain extend it wasn't communicated well from our side. So as group we decided to change the concept of it though that this trailer would suit the what the film is about.
The idea behind adding the dialogues from the film was to engage with the audience and capture their attention. The dramatic music gave it an edge to the trailer its obvious but not too much so not much is given away.
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and combinations of real media product?
As a group we had decided that we were going to develop something which was different from what’s already out in the media world. We chose to do something complicated in order to challenge our ability as media student.
The main conventions we challenged are the idea of time, we tried to play around the time without having to making it too confusing. In order to make it more challenging and different we decided to back in the past and come back to the present to make more effective and more complex. How ever since we didn't want to make too complex we added narration so it would communicate well with the audience but no giving away the story.
We also went against Todorovs idea of equilibrium, my grouped tired to break this concept as much as possible in order to make our film stand out from other and also to make it more interesting. It challenges most of the films made in today. The first scene of the film is in fact the last scene this decision was taken for number of reasons, one of the reason was to make confuse the audience.
We also tried to break the typical stereotype of blonds being as “bimbos” and the typical stereotype of teenagers being “rude and angry”. Our main actresses, Helen, breaks all the these stereotype. In fact Helen is a bright young lady who’s managed to achieve so much at such young age.
