  • 3. Self– directedness:Take responsibilities for theirown lives, including theplanning, implementing, andevaluating of their learningactivities .
  • 4. The role of experience:-- Each of us brings to a learning situation a wealthof experiences that provide a base for new learningas well as resource to share with.-- These experiences may be good or bad, but theywill impact the way in which people approach a newlearning experience.-- Adults learners have a variety of experiences inlife which represent the richest resources forlearning.
  • 5. Adults areready to learnwhen theyperceive aneed to knowor dosomething.
  • 6. Real-world application: The want the skills and knowledge to help them solve problems or complete tasks. People are motivated to learn when they see relevance to their real-life situations and are able to apply what they have learned as quickly as possible.
  • 7. Internal factor:Adults are motivated to learn because ofinternal factors such as self-esteem, desire forrecognition, natural curiosity, innate lovelearning, better quality of life, greater self-confidence, or the opportunity to selfactualize.
  • 8. Principles of Adult Learning:-- Adults must recognize the need of learn.-- Adults want to apply new learning back on the job.-- Adults need to integrate past experience with newmaterial.-- Adults prefer the concrete to the abstract.-- Adults need a variety of training methods.-- Adults learn better in an informal, confortableenvironment.-- Adults want to solve realistic problems.-- Adults prefer the hands-one method of learning.
