1. URBANDESIGNMAART DESIGN ARCHITECTURE HUDDERSFIELD
This new and innovative master’s provides a course of study that critically
redefines the role of urban design in the future development of our cities. The
overarching aim is to enable graduates to effectively participate and intervene
in the urban design process, whether they develop a career in the public sector,
private practice and consultancy or academia.
A key characteristic is the focus on development of alternative forms of urban
strategy, which more effectively integrate the many strands such as planning
law, socio-economic policy, infrastructural development and spatial design.
The impact of globalisation and technological advances on regional urbanism is
investigated, considering how, both internationally and within the UK, cities are
addressingtheirprospectsforsustainedgrowthinthemidstofrapidurbanisation.
