    • Is  this  what  we  are  proud  of  ?   • 10  per  cent  of  the  crimes  commiPed  in  India  is  of  women  abuse.   • Several  dowry  death  cases  have  also  been  reported.   • Abduc?on  cases  of  women  has  greatly  increased.   • Approximately  2  million  children  are  commercial  sex  workers.   • Almost  40,000  girls  are  forced  into  flesh  trade  business.   • A  girl  is  raped  every  20  minutes  in  this  country.   • Physically/mentally  challenged  girls  are  subjected  to  violence  and  abuse.   • There  is  con?nuous  deteriora?on  in  the  status  of  the  women.     • 70  per  cent  of  women  are    economically  inac?ve.   • 65  per  cent  rise  in  cases  of  atroci?es  on  women  from  2008-­‐11     Rape  ,  dowry  deaths,  kidnapping  and  abduc?on  ,   torture  ,trafficking  ,molesta?on  ,sa?  ,  sexual  harassment  ,  is  this  how  we  treat  the   women  of  today  ?  
    • The  NCRB  survey  sta?s?cs  ,needless  to  say    shameful  for  the  country  tell  us  an  Untold  story.        
    • Our  Priori?es     EDUCATE:  Educa?on  is  the  basic  solu?on  to  all  our  problems  .  Educa?on   would  ins?ll  women  with  confidence  ,skills  which  would  lead  to  high  levels  of   economic  involvement  and  independence    and  hence  to  high  levels  of  equality.   EMPOWER:  Empowering  women  with  certain  skills  and  abili?es  to  safeguard   themselves  ,to  achieve  success  ,to  help  them  voice  their  opinions  and  to   increase  their  decision  making  power.   EMPLOY:  Employment  of  women  is  an  important  step  towards  our  Walk  to   Equality  The  Indian  growth  story  depends  significantly  on  realizing  the  poten?al   of  women  who  contribute  to  48%  of  Indian  popula?on  ,providing  access  to   financial  services  such  as  credit  and  insurance  .     ENCOURAGE:  Encouraging  women  is  the  prime  need  of  the  hour,so  that  they   can  turn  their  cant’s  into  cans  and  their  pains  into  plans.  
    • The  Solu?on:   We  aim  to  empower  women  at  two  levels,one  in   which  at  the  grassroot  level  that  is  through  self-­‐ help  i.e  “Atma-­‐Suraksha”  and  the  other  at  the   community  level,  i.e  “Sarvasva  Suraksha”.         • Distribu2on  of  self  defense  kits.   • Introduc2on  of  self  defense  techniques  as  a   part  of  the  curriculum   Atma-­‐ Suraksha   • Provisions  for  arrangement  of  Voca2onal   Training  to  increase  employability.   • Imapar2ng  educa2on  through  the  use  of   technology  to  each  and  every  girl  and  women   in  the  country.   Sarvasva-­‐ Suraksha  
    • Atma-­‐Suraksha   The  Suraksha  Kit:   The  kit  would  consist  of  a   Pepper  spray  boPle  and  a     Ninja  Kubaton  is  a  small   wooden  pocket-­‐size  key-­‐chain   s?ck,  great  to  be  used  for  self   defence  techniques,  with  a   non-­‐lethal  blunt  ?p  which  can   be  used  by  women  to  jab  &   give  painful  s?mulus  to  deter   or  escape  a  person  grabbing   or  holding.This  would  provide   a  hands  on  shield  to  women   at  their  which  they  can  use  in   emergency  situa?ons.   The  Suraksha  Abhiyan:   This  would  involve  addi?on  of   self-­‐defense  techniques  like   mar?al  arts  in  all  schools  as  a   part  of  the  cuuriculum.   It  should  be  made  compulsory,   the  students  would  require  to   have  to  aPain  a  certain  degree   of  excellence  before  they   complete  their  school   educa?on.This  should  be   implemented  for  all  private   schools  and  all  schools  under   the  Sarva  Shiksha  Abhiyan.  
    • Cost  Structure  for  Atma  Suraksha:     The  Suraksha  Kit:   Price  per  kit:      Rs  600  (250  +  350)   Total  number  of  females  in  the  age  bracket  14  to   45:      45  crores   Total  Expenditure:  2700  crores   Recurring  Expenditure:300  crores     The  Suraksha  Abhiyan:   The  cost  is  to  be  borne  by  the  private  schools  and   the  rest  under  the  Sarva  Shiksha  Abhiyan.          
    • Sarvasva-­‐Suraksha   The  Suraksha  Gurukul:   With  Suraksha  Gurukul  we   aim  to  empower  women  with   skills  which  can  increase  their   employability  ,this  would  not   only  act  as  educa?onal   ins?tu?ons  but  also  as   financial  ins?tu?ons  .The   women  can  themselves  start   their  own  businesses  using   the  skills  they  acquire  with   the  help  of  the  Suraksha   Gurukuls.     The  Suraksha  Portal:   This  would  be  a  one  stop   portal  for  redressing  all   complaints  regarding  any   issues  concerning  women,they   would  be  provided  help  within   24  hours  of  the  complaint  .This   would  also  act  as  gateway   through  which  would  impart   educa?on  through  videos     even  to  rural  villages  .The  use   of  applica?ons  and  tablets  to   spread  the  portal  will  be   made.  
    • Cost  Structure  for  Sarvasva  Suraksha:     The  Suraksha  Gurukul:   Cost  per  female:      Rs  12000   Total  number  of  females  in  the  age  bracket  14  to   25:      20  crores   Total  Expenditure:  24000  crores   Recurring  Expenditure:300  crores     The  Suraksha  Portal:   The  cost  for  the  crea?on  and  maintainance  of  the   portal,for  analysis  of  the  requests  and  the  other   processes  would  roughly  amount  to  25  crores.          
    • The  Final  Word:   Sahas  :Ek  Prayas  is  our  way  in  which  we  want  to  help  and  serve  the  women  of   country  ,this  is  just  a  small  step  towards  a  long  Walk  to  Equality  ,  which  when   once  done  would  bring  immense  happiness  ,pride  and  prosperity  to  our   people.   Sahas  is  a  project  is  an  effort  by  which  we  aim  to  empower  ,encourage  and   safeguard  each  and  every  girl,woman  in  the  country  .It  is  what  we  strive  for   and    we  are  going  to  achieve  it.     With  the  help  of  Sahas  ,we  want  to  create  An  India  where  Women  have  minds   without  fear  ,  “Jahan  har  munni  school  jayein”  ,  “har  aar?,aastha,shweta  ke   pas  kaam  ho,    ,”kisi  bhi  ankita,shris?  ko  dahage  ki  chinta  na  karni  padhe,  aur   ”jab  bhi  koi  priya,akansha,amrita  ghar  se  niklein  toh  wo  nidar  rahein”  …
