Introducing electoral reforms to reduce
the influence of money and muscle power
in politics
Paving Ways
TEAM: ROOTS
Causes of the problem
Widespread poverty and unemployment
leading to people falling to such cheap tricks
Lack of awareness about the candidates and
strict rules curbing the use of such measures
Lack of proper law and order
implementation to check cheap means
Reasons for selecting a specific cause
Rigging of elections and unfair means lead to
people losing their faith on democracy and a
passive democracy
Any Indian, who wishes to change our
motherland, feels great resistance because
the lack of active governance and passive
nature of representatives, which in turn arises
from unfair elections
Not fully empowered election commission
to keep a vigil watch over the process
The people’s representatives decide the policies that
matter for the future of India, if they are uncapable
of bringing change, the country’s future is doomed
Money powered and
criminalization of
elections leads to fake
democracy with people
being left out with no
good choices to choose
Money and muscle
power are basically
synonyms of unfair
elections which cut he
roots of democracy
Money influencing
elections leads to the
circulation of black
money, which in turn is
supported by the
politicians using such
means
Representatives coming
with the help of unfair
means promote
criminalization, and
disturb the law and
order of the area
Growing fear of muscle
power leads to people
fearing their leaders,
thus turning leaders to
dictators
The growing influences
of money driven
elections leads to
scarcity of genuine
leaders/nationalists in
political scenario
worsening the policy
making and key
decisions
Candidates winning
from unfair means are
callous and non-
responsive to people’s
demands and do not
perform their duties
Of the problem
 Cash for vote
 Illegal political financing, forming
duplicate bills
 Fake volunteering during election
campaign to show extended support
 Providing “incentives” for coalition
formation
 Threatening opposition candidates to
withdraw electoral nomination
 Barring opposition voters from voting
 Disturbing opposition electoral campaign
