2. Education loop holes in secondary
and higher secondary school level
 Pre-college level ---- Education system prevailing in India is less
research oriented
 College level ---- Students focus on marks rather than
understanding the concepts.
 Students must be encouraged to do research work.
 Primary ---- System should be more research oriented.
 Students must be made aware about the research works.
 College ---- Acquiring skills and excellence should be the main
motive.

3. No of students in India
 20 million – in schools
 10 million – in high schools
 4 million – in graduate
 Around 16,000 – in PhD. !!!!!

4. Research – Lack of proper
funding
 Authenticity of the research topic of the
student must be identified.
 The progress of the student must be
properly monitored.
 The funding should be gradually increased
based on the progress of the student.

5. Research - Lack of resources
 Lack of proper research laboratories in
India.
 World class labs should be build.
 Proper research environment should be
provided.

6. Sample solution
 Approx. 80 colleges offering research
degrees in India.
 On average 50 students per college.
 Total students – 4000
 Average fund per project of the student

◦ Total funding required – Rs.2,00,00,000

7. Conclusion
• If above steps are taken properly, then a good research
environment can be created in India, which will hopefully
reduce “BRAIN DRAIN” and increase “BRAIN GAIN”
