    • Incredible Edible sells itself but…….
    • Not everyone is in a position to buy into it
    • We have to work harder at getting into communities where it’s not happening
    • These are the communities with massive future health issues
    • Where malnutrition exists now
    • Where lots of people rely on ready meals ‘cos it’s cheaper, easier and in their comfort zone
  • 20.
    • Social Housing Providers (RSL’s) like Pennine Housing are uniquely placed to make a difference
    • We have direct access and an existing relationship with the people everyone else is struggling to reach but……
    • We can’t do it on our own
    • This about partnership work
    • The sum of the whole is far, far greater than the component parts
  • 21.

    • We’ll continue working together ‘cos it make sense
    • But away from here, landlords are preventing people from getting involved
    • They’re stopping tenants from keeping chickens in gardens
    • They’re precious about community space, “oh no – we might need it for redevelopment” – well, they won’t be needing it for a year or two and that’s plenty of time to grow some spuds and a cabbage or two!
    • We all need to work together to get Housing Providers on board
    • If we don’t deliver Incredible Edible in social housing communities then we’ve failed
  • 35.
    • When you leave here today…
    • Think about the Housing Associations and Council’s with properties near where you live
    • Send them copies of our presentations
    • Signpost them to our websites
    • Tell them that there’s a good business case for doing this – they’ll like that!
    • Most importantly, challenge them to help their tenants to get involved in something that can change their lives
  • 36. Thank you
