N3 is a very large network with 1.3 million NHS end
users and over 40,000 connections within England
and Scotland.
A private and highly secure network that currently
supports over 581,000 registered users for N3 access
to electronic patient records.
* by default traffic is not encrypted across the N3 network
** formal QoS is not applicable for non spine applications
*** N3 is moving towards N4 which will more closely align with the Governments Public Sector Network
strategy
