NGNs in the UK - History <ul><li>1999 Thus launch NGN with 190 POPs and 10,000km of fibre. </li></ul><ul><li>2005 Opal / Carphone Warehouse launch NGN </li></ul><ul><li>2005 NTL launches a 266-node NGN network with 30 core nodes around the U.K. </li></ul><ul><li>2006 C&W launch their NGN in London. </li></ul><ul><li>2006 BT switch on their NGN (21CN) in Wales. </li></ul><ul><li>2008 Colt deploy their NGN in London, Paris and Frankfurt. </li></ul>To date, it’s all been about Network Cost Savings
