Jet-setting with pixieLast Friday I found out I was lucky enough to win 3 tickets to go to Berlin with Pixie Lott on her plane to be a part of her album launch so I took Char and our 'guardian' for the day - Lara. The trip began on Sunday evening when we arrived at the Hilton hotel - Stansted and met the Universal people, Pixie was actually staying in the same hotel as us but we didn't hang around much or see her, we just went back to the room and watched a movie (Hannah Montana - Char's favourite) before going to bed as we had an early start the next day. The next morning we woke up at 5.30 before being whisked off to our private terminal which had really cool wallpaper with the press and other competition winners. We then boarded the Pixie Lott branded plane with Pixie in a pilot outfit claiming she was flying the plane to Berlin! Char wasn't so keen on this idea. The plane ride was short but we were kept amused by Pixie giving out announcements over the tannoy system. Next up was the Berlin concert which was her European launch. She sang 4 songs and then we were rushed back onto the bus to head back to Berlin airport. Before getting back on the plane we got our photos taken with Pixie in front of the plane and then were taken back to Stansted. Later that evening we arrived at the HMV forum where Pixie did a full concert. She was AMAZING. She did a great cover of The Beatles song - Places I remember. Another song which got the crowd going was a medley of current songs in the chart right now included parts of - I gotta feeling and Beat Again. My favourite song of the night was Nothing Compares. Afterwards we were taken back to another hotel by Universal and crashed out in our beds after a hectic but amazing day. It was such a surreal day but really good and I still don't know how Pixie managed to put on such an amazing show that evening when she must have been doubly as tired as we were! The reason why is we could really relate to it. It’s like a relationship song and every single girl could listen to it and “Yeah, I’ve been through that before”. And were also a big fan of Ne-Yo and we were very excited to be working with him.What your main goal in the future of the Sugababes?Our next goal would be to break into new territories and a lot of people have said “God you’ve achieved so much and what’s there left to do, we’d love to break into some places like Japan & America and that’s something we really love to do, and to continue to sell more records as you can never fill it up and to be happy.What advice would you give to someone that wants to make it in the music industry You have to believe in yourself because a lot of people get a lot of knockbacks. The main thing is to believe in yourself and not to expect it coming to you, you have to push yourself and go out there and keep trying and look for opportunities and lots of luck!

Michael Jackson is one of my favourite artist of all time, and I would love to have been part of making sure the whole world knew who he was, not that he needed much help.When did you first start singing?I started singing when I was a kid. Well getting into music when I was a kid I was about 3, when I was about 12 I got into musical instruments and at about 14/15 I started producing songs using production equipment.If you couldn’t be a singer, what would you be?If I couldn’t be a singer/artist/producer/entrepreneur and many other things, I imagine I would just be a producer or I would or I could just be a record label executive, and be part of music somehow. I don’t really know anything else, music runs through my blood, so does design. Designing fashion is something I also do. When did you get signed?I actually got signed, funny story, I put up my own record company that I’ve got up, it’s kinda street teamy . I just kinda made loads and loads of cds and sent it out to radio stations and they started playing it and the record label came to me and they phoned me. While I was in the shop and I got a phone call from New York from the head of the record label and said, “we love your songs and we want you to come in and offer you a record deal”, and so I flew out the next day to New York and got signed and that was it. Not to say there wasn’t more hard work that happ4ened before that. It was 6 years of hard work before that. It’s quite a fun story to get a random phone call like that out if nowhere.What’s the best thing about being a star?The best part is freebies. You get a lot of free, very cool free things. One of the latest free magical things that I got is this magical card that nando’s had given me which allows me to get free nando’s anytime I want for myself and as many friends that I want to go nando’s with; so we go have pretty much a big chicken feast every week which is good fun. So yeah this is my newest favourite thing.

But eventually it did and we recorded the song at like 4a.m in the morning and it literally made my day. To me it made the song more special to have him on itWhat’s the best thing that has happened to you since winning the x-factor?Since winning the x-factor, I had to go on tour with the other finalists for a month and half and then after the tour I had to fly to the States to start recording the album. I was there for 3 months so since winning its been work, work, work, working on the album and working on the single.What are your top tips on how to get into the music industry?For any in4mer that wants to be in the music industry, my top tips would be always be yourself, be very honest, and enjoy what you do, and make sure you love what you do, if you don’t love it you might reconsider because it’s a hard business to be in but you really have to love it to get through it.

Remi Nicole’s Album ReviewRemi Nicole’s new album “Cupid Shoot Me” is out and it is a love struck relationship between remembering the 80’s and Remi’s soulful voice. If your looking for catchy tunes with a good vibe, Remi would have strung a few chords for your delightful ears. Straight off the start to end, the album contains a mixture of high tempo tunes and some nice soulful ballads that would suit anyone. The album starts off with “Cupid Shoot Me” presents listeners with the pleasure of getting accustomed to her singing voice that reminds listeners of the good old 80’s(for some of us). It’s upbeat vibes would certainly get you up on your feet and get ready to dance. As the album begins to take shape, few songs that really stand out! “Loveless” is a nice slow ballad tune that shows her vocal talents. She does not try hard to impress her fans/listeners while staying true to her musical self. “Another Day” and “Broken Hearted People” are two songs that are really catchy. With a lot of beats, musical influences from the 80’s and a mixture of instruments such as violins, saxophone which really gives both songs a lot of energy. Her first single from the album “Standing Tears Apart” has a good tempo and definitely has good vibes throughout the song. Overall, with the gloomy dark skies of Autumn approaching, and if you need something to remind you of the summer days(which hasn’t been all great). Remi’s new album definitely serves as a good post-summer album that is a must if you want some catchy beats, strumming guitars chords and a soulful voice.

More ThoughtsIn my opinion as one of the biggest Taylor fans out there, there are a few of her songs that could be taken as the best yet. One of those is most certainly 'You belong with me'. It is probably one of the most relatable songs she has written and being upbeat, you can belt it out.I also believe 'fifteen', 'the best day', ‘Tim Mcgraw' or 'sparks fly' could take the title. 'Fifteen', 'The best day' and 'Tim Mcgraw' are slow, sweet and emotional, you can really feel what Taylor is singing. 'Sparks Fly', although not yet recorded has the most beautiful lyrics that are so meaningful that I get shivers when listening to it. 'Love Story' is also a classic, written about the tragic love between 'Romeo and Juliet' however with a happy ending this is the song most people in the UK know to be Taylor's first. In my opinion these songs all have such lovely lyrics and that is what sets Taylor apart from other artists; her lyrics. Jennifer In4merzI think you belong with me by Taylor Swift is her best song! I thinks its her best as it tells such a cute love story, the lyrics are really good and most girls can easily relate to them (i know i can!) the beat is quite fast compared to some of her other songs and makes me want to get up and dance and sing around my bedroom at the top of my voice and if i can i usually just dance in my chair haha. Taylors voice sounds amazing, she has so much power & passion when she sings, whenever i hear you belong with me i cant help but smile, i instantly think about the video and it makes me smile so much thinking about the ending. Its truely amazing how this song will relate to so many people though...Taylor has an amazing way of speaking to us (her fans) and giving us an amazing love story. The song has a good mixture between pop & country, unlike some of her other songs which are either mainly country or mainly pop. Rachel In4merz
