Alexandra Burke - “Overcome” Review“Overcome” was one of the most highly anticipated albums of 2009, even more so following the chart topping success of Bad Boys ft. Flo Rida. The album is full of soulful tracks of all genres. This is one of the most electric debut albums ever! From the sharp, hard hitting ballad “The Silence” (one of only three ballads on the entire album) to the amazing Broken Heels, produced by Red One. “Broken Heels” is proving to be one of the most popular tracks from the album. It’s a fun up-tempo track that would make an amazing follow up single. Tracks to look out for: “Good Night Good Morning” (ft. Ne-Yo) - this track has HIT written all over it. 'Diary of a Princess' Album Launch Where: Brick House, Brick LaneOn arrival at the party you were greeted with a glass of pink champagne and a table full of miniature pink cupcakes which were delicious. The room was themed pink including the icing fountain with strawberries and marshmallows, the candy floss and even the girls meeting and greeting were wearing little pink lacy numbers for the boys. Another treat for the lads was a Nintendo Wii room complete with widescreen TV and couch. A magician was also working the room. He was mind blowing and had everyone scratching their heads. The room was lively and busy with people chatting, drinking and eating the yummy nibbles being passed around.Princess Nyah performed well and the crowd loved her up-close and personal performance. A pink goody bag was distributed at the end containing CDs, posters and sweets. The whole evening was themed and set out perfectly for a princess.

Erik Hassle – “Hurtful” ReviewErik Hassle, probably the best newcomer of the year.The first time I heard Erik Hassle's “Hurtful” was when he competed in the Metro Music Challenge, three years ago. Then, last year in November I heard it on one of my friends blogs. I was captivated. Since then, there hasn’t been a day where I haven’t listened to Hurtful”. He's without question, a person, one with the most potential to have a long life career in the music business. I’ve heard so many covers of "Hurtful" but no one delivers so much passion and feelings as Erik is able to do. You can hear that this is a man, wanting to scream all his emotions out, heartbroken and all confused of the choices he made. Of all the songs I've listened to in my life, cried, laughed and had goose bumps while listening, this is the song which deserves to be in my top 5. Hurtful is the soundtrack of my year and I'm sure that I'm not alone. And when you guys hear it, you'll hopefully be as captivated as I was that late November night one year ago. Miley Cyrus – “Party In The U.S.A.” ReviewI think Miley’s new single is a lot different from her previous singles she’s released- but in a good way. For her first single from her new album ‘The Time of our Lives’ it shows that she does make pop music and I think the music video is amazing where she has a huge American flag behind her. This single is so good, but I don’t think it reaches the standards of ‘The Climb’ which shows her true potential so I would give the new single 4 stars. I cannot wait until the new album, which includes “When I Look at You” from Miley’s new movie ‘The Last Song’. Jonas Brothers On Tour!I’m going to see the Jonas Brothers on the 20th of November at Wembley Arena. I am excited about seeing them again after their amazing show back in June. I am looking forward to seeing them sing old songs like ‘Hold on’ and ‘That’s just the way we roll’. I’m also looking forward to them singing new songs too like ‘Much better’ and ‘Fly with me’. Lady GaGa - The Fame Monster Playback PartyLast week I was lucky enough to win tickets for Lady GaGa’s playback party where we got to listen to her new tracks from “The Fame Monster” first. The event was held at “The Magic House” which was extremely hard to find because it was hidden behind a large red gate. Once inside we were offered food and drink and told to sit down at one of the tables. The venue had been decorated in a Halloween theme with pumpkin candles and cobwebs covering the walls. Once we were sat down they played a video message from Lady GaGa who congratulated us for being able to hear the tracks first which was nice. In total they played us 5 new tracks: “Dance In The Dark”, “Monster”, “So Happy I Could Die”, “Speechless” and “Telephone.” My favourite was “Dance In The Dark” which was instantly catchy and was a very dark and twisted track. There were a couple of competitions throughout the afternoon including ‘best dressed’ and ‘best dancer’. My cousin was lucky enough to win the “best dressed” competition and won a special edition of GaGa’s new album! I had a really good time at the party and really can’t wait to hear the tracks again!

Girls Can’t Catch – “Echo”This week it was announced that Girls Can’t Catch will release their second single “Echo” on January 18th. I’ve heard the live version many times, friends have filmed it for me but I’ve never seen them performing it in person! I think its going to be pretty different from “Keep Your Head Up” , the sound is different. “Keep Your Head Up” had a more dance feel to it while Echo is a more lovey-dovey song....still fab though! I’m so excited to see what the video for Echo is going to be like, it’s such a long wait! I want it to hurry up! It would make a great Christmas pressie. I’ll ask Santa! Kari In4merz
