Imaging diagnostics presents ID3: 3D vision with a single Smart Camera
ID3 is a single camera 3D vision system for the detection, inspection and grading of objects for
industrial purposes. ID3 uses two color LED light sources, to capture a series of monochromatic
images. The embedded DSP integrates the dichotomized images, to generate live 3D data directly to
a display, or transfer embedded information to a host PC for display and further analysis.

ID3 facilitates the measurement of height, volume, shape and
profile through three distinct segments of the vision system.
Each element of the ID3 system has been specifically
constructed to increase speed, efficiency, and compatibility

Capture: illumination & capture
A combination of specially made optics and light sources input a
multiple illumination color sequence to a monochrome sensor,
synchronized with the image capture.
Inspect: Image processing

ID3 utilizes an embedded smart USB2.0 camera to manage and flow of illumination-frame
process the alternating images flow. The captured data is pre
processed in the embedded DSP, saving time and resources from the
Host processor and either the raw data is transferred, or a processed 3D.
Grade: Image Generation
After the camera triggered illumination sequence, the ID3 system
outputs the gathered live video by interchanging the images according to
their placement and time. This video is then displayed using a 3D
monitor, which is capable of page flip mode, or just with simple 3D
red/blue glasses, and is perceived as a viable 3D object.

Providing a 3rd dimension adds height and shape to industrial data,
improving the overall capabilities of industrial vision systems. As a
result, many market-leading in-line inspection machines use 3D
vision. ID3’s features and flexibility enable the use of 3D technology
for medical and industrial applications never endeavored because of
size and capability restraints. ID3 represents a new stage in 3D vision
