On Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, Imagine! SmartHomes tech guys Kevin Harding and Alex Andrews presented at the Boulder/Denver New Tech No-For-Profit night. It was a great opportunity for them to introduce Imagine!’s SmartHome project (and other tech projects Imagine! is involved in), introduce a couple of small projects that we need assistance with, recruit volunteers, and get some help/guidance from a highly technical crowd. What We Would Like To Accomplish TonightProject One: Arm Support•A forearm support that could be utilized by aperson with a physical disability to stabilize theirarm in order to use a touch screen device.•The support should be adjustable and able toattach to multiple surfaces such as awheelchair, desk chair or tabletop.

Project Two: Motion Detection Synthesizer•Allows an individual with limited movement toparticipate in music generation by controllingvirtual instruments.•Motion detection or camera recognition•Similar to GarageBand•Utilizes concurrent inputs•For people that do not have the dexterity or rangeof motion to control a keyboard or similar inputdevice.
