    2. 2. WHY?: THE SPACE RACE  October 4th, 1957. The Soviet Union launches the first artificiall satellite (Sputnik 1).  November 3rd, 1957. Laika was a Soviet space dog who became the first animal to orbit the Earth.  April 12th, 1961. The Soviet Union launch the first human to space (Yuri Gagarin, Vostok 1).  May 25th, 1961. J.F.K. WHO AND WHEN  Apollo 11 was the first manned mission U.S.A. sent into space ind”reach to k an the surface of the Moon. m for  Apollo 11 was released from Cape Kennedy complex, Florida (USA), on eap nt l July 16th, 1969 (10:32 local time). g ia o ne an,  The crew consisted of: the mission commander; Neil A. Armstrong (aged m [a]Jr (aged 39) nicknamed Buzz, and the 38), LEM pilot; Edwin E.     5. 5. TRUE OR FALSE?  You can see in the sky there aren´t any stars, but they have to be there because in the moon there is no pollution. Other people think that was a camera mistake. ?  In the photo you can see that the flagink ? h fluttered, but it couldn´t ut because in the moon there is no wind. Other people think that is because yo the astronauts touched the t do flag. ha  In the next picture you W see that one shadow is larger than the can other, but it´s impossible because it´s only one light productor:THE SUN.
