Smart Group Scotland Monthly Networking Meeting  
I would like to take this opportunity to make you aware of a new, free, networking event held each month in Edinburgh for the Electronics Industry in Scotland, if you have already attended a meeting, hope we can continue on your support. This is an informal meeting bringing people together to share, and learn from each others experiences. Each event deals with technical and commercial aspects of our industry as well as offering social and networking opportunities. The Networking Meeting
The Venue The meetings are held in the Royal Scots Guards Association Club ( opposite Haymarket Station ) on the 3rd Thursday of each month and lasts approx. 90 minutes. We meet at 17.30 for an 18.15 start. As this is in the heart of Edinburgh, its not easy to get park, however there is a large NCP car park , just 5 mins from the venue, please click here to get directions for Car parking and Venue http://tinyurl.com/rd4qxz , Royal Scots Guards Association Club is on the other side of the road 3 mins from Haymarket Station towards Princes Street, so if you are coming by train, then it’s ideal.
Topics Confirmed for next meeting on June 18th 2009  Printed Circuit Laminates  : Ian Hood, Zot Engineering Ltd An explanation of the range of laminates and prepregs available (pretty important if you are thinking about lead free soldering), their main properties and the part they play in the Lead Free Assembly of Printed Circuit Boards, and more importantly how you should specify them.  TAG (Technical Advisory Group) Update :  Gerry Watt, Chief Executive, Electronics Scotland The Technology Advisory Group was created to address the technologies that contribute to Scotland's key sectors. The Group has a high level representation from industry, including GlobalScot members and the main public sector agencies. Smart Group The SMART Group Aims to Promote the Advancement of the Electronics Manufacturing Industry through the Education, Training and Notification of its Members in  S urface  M ount  A nd  R elated Assembly  T echnologies, and by the Promotion of a Community of Electronics Manufacturing Professionals. This is to be Accomplished by Active Encouragement of Member Inter-activity, through Meetings, Seminars, Conferences and Publication of Technical Information.
